    Recommendations for FTP software
    Hi,
I do not know if anybody has posted this before but i am really interested in knowing if there are any FTP software around which doesn't cost a bomb and is easy to use (my programming skills are intermediate at best).

I use WS_FTP. I have also used the free version of CoffeeCup and CuteFTP and both work well.

I also use WS_FTP, but have the Pro version (paid for version). It is well worth the investment over time, and is one of the better ones out there. Even the free version.

    I use Filezilla -- it's great

You can get it free from Cnet's download.com:

WS_FTP used to be free, but the last I checked (before I downloaded Filezilla) it had added a restrictive license (that's what sent me looking elsewhere).

As the others already said FileZilla is great, but I'd recommend you
    FlashFXP.
I've used it for about two years and I personally think it's the best
FTP client (and it cost only $25 !!!).

I use WS_FTP when I need to CHMOD. I really prefer to use an FTP application that is integrated with my page editor - for this I use Dreamweaver (but it is not free). I like Cute FTP too but judging from this thread - I will have to look into FileZilla.

WS_FTP, paid version. If you work on more than one site, having multiple tabs open is a must-have feature.

I use Windows Commander. Perfect for both FTP and your offline file management.

I totally agree. It also will automatically open them all back up that you want when you launch it again as well. Great timesaver if working on multiple sites.

I use the free version of WS_FTP even though I paid for it long ago. I like the simplicity of the free version.

I had a problem with Filezilla not always changing the CHMOD of files. That is why I went with WS_FTP Pro.

    Thanks everyone for the recommendations.
I see that FileZilla is quite popular, so hopefully, i will have time to try it out over the weekend.
