    FJB Happy Week #4
We are continuing with our Happy Weeks [previous happy weeks may be found at wk #1, wk #2 and wk #3 links], and this week we're going to play with the word "HAPPY".

    "H" for Homework

QUESTION: Did you know that there is a characteristic by which Cubic Zirconia simulated diamonds actually prevail over natural diamonds? Which one is it?

Cubic Zirconia is flawless whereas most diamonds contain impurities.
CZ available in a rainbow of colors.

All true, but I mean something different. The answer is at the website.

    From the site:

contain more fire (rainbows) than natural diamonds.
but thecool already mentioned the rainbows. The above is the only thing I found on the site that puts CZ better than diamonds (except, of course, the price)

    Geno,

This is slightly off topic but, my make a page pages no longer contain images.
Are we going to have to create new pages every time there is an update to the data feed?

I cannot figure out how it happened as I have no access to the previously uploaded datafeed (feeds are sent automatically, not through me). But I would appreciate other affiliates looking through their pages - those that were built using the Make-A-Page tool - and letting me know if you experience the same problem.

    Many thanks in advance,

Judi, Gene did not mention what you mentioned, quoting the website. Gene said that they are "available in a rainbow of colors". Fire is a totally different thing. Fire - when we're talking diamonds - is when a dispersed light appears as flashes of rainbow colors. You see more fire in darker rooms that have just a few point light sources or a flickering candle (e.g.: dimmed rooms, restaurants, etc).

So CZ does contain more fire (or flashes of rainbow colors) than natural diamonds. Interesting, isn't it?

I have a limited number of Make A Page pages remaining, but they are all fine and they were made before the datafeed changed.

It is interesting, but my true love is blue sapphires.

Thank you, Judi. Glad that your Make-A-Page generated pages are working fine.

Gene, how long ago did you put those pages up?

IMPORTANT: If anyone else notices a problem with Make-A-Page FJB pages, let me know.

Webster's dictionary defines it this way:

    Look at this:

I know, the commission amounts are not great, but do you know what these two affiliates have in common? Two things. (1) They both have a wonderful conversion, and (2) they fall into the same affiliate category. They are both coupon sites.

FJB's program hasn't been around for two long, but I've already noticed that those few sites that promote FJB's coupons convert very nicely.

Hope this gives you some food for thought.

    Geno,

March 18, 2006 was the last time I updated the product links. I just noticed the images were gone when I went to update some banner links. Also, I find only 15 earrings now while I have four pages of them from previous data.

Gene, do you have a copy of the datafeed that you used back then, or did you only use the Make-A-Page tool and that's it?

    Geno,

I use only the pagemaker unless a merchant also has a DPSC or PSC. I do not download any datafeeds.

    Gene,

    Here's what I got from FJB's management:

    ---
I have checked with ystoretools - that guaranteed me that the urls are NOT changing. What happens is this: Whenever we make changes to our store and publish, yst is notified. They then transfer all item data to their servers. In this process, all images are ripped from our site, renamed and held with a static url on their own servers. Images, even when updated, are mapped to the exact same url as before - this way updated images still have the same address.
    ---

From the reaction I see above (or should I say "that I do not see above"), no one else has the problem... If you could please reload those pages, I would highly appreciate it.

If anyone else is experiencing this problem, please do let me know.

    Thanks,

    Geno

PS: It is hard to tell what went wrong as no one seems to have that old datafeed (SaS doesn't keep them, Yahoo sends them to SaS automatically).

We have something in common. I prefer the "Make-a-Page tool" to downloading datafeeds

    Gene,

I've had a thorough look into this, and the links on your pages pull images from http://us.st11.yimg... which is the old address hosted by Yahoo store. We have been using only http://dts.ystoretools... paths for a while. Looks like your links are based on an old datafeed. Please renew those pages, Gene, and the images disappearing shouldn't happen again.

    Thanks,

    Geno

    Geno,

Appears you may be correct except that there are still many missing products in the current datafeed that the pagemaker is looking at. Categories have changed also which destroys the whole purpose of using the pagemaker. One should not have to rebuild pages everytime there is an update. I can not rebuild 4 pages of products with only 7 product in a category.

Only one affiliate has come close to the goal, but not close enough to reach it.

Let me make the task easier today. After all "HAPPY" has two P's that we can use for the word PRIZE.

    So...

Generate 4 (four) sales within the next 24 hours, and I will credit your SaS account $50.00

    Like that?

    Easy cash...

    Good luck!!

Gene, here's the reply I've received:

    -----------
I am unsure what categories you are speaking about. If you mean rings, earrings, necklaces, etc.. No nothing has changed. We have restructured the pagination of our site, but that should not have changed what category the products are in.
    -----------

    Kindly clarify.

This reply annoys me to no end. I would not be complaining or expressing concern if the number of products in each category had not drastically changed. The category names for the most part remain the same. It is the number of products in each that has changed.

    Example:
earrings now has only 15 products where there were previously 118
rings now has only 10 products where there were previously 143
bracelets now has only 7 products where there were previously 52
    etc., etc.

As I said once before, management needs to test and not assume. Should not have changed doesn't cut it.

I am anxious to rebuild my product pages, but can not until this issue is corrected. Surely I am not the only affiliate that sees the product depletion.
