    PHP-Nuke Question
I have a phpnuke site. Seem like spammers can still add comments to news stories even though I have comments disabled for each news story.

    1. How can this be happening?

    2. What can I do to stop it?

    Thanks,
    Doug

I stopped using phpNuke on my personal sites because of spamming and security issues. I got hacked one time too many even though I had the latest updates at the time. If you are using it mostly for News, check out WordPress blog instead, if you need complete CMS, look at Mambo or Joomla, people are reporting they are easy to use and I am not hearing about security issues.

Both nukes are just too high profile and hackers enjoy cracking into them, like it's a challenge

The biggest mistake I made with my first major web site was to choose Php Nuke instead of Wordpress.

I had to bring in a developer to add extra security settings, features and hacks. It cost me a small fortune to get the site to do the things that Wordpress + a few plugins can do.

I am now happy with my site, but if I could turn back time I wouldn't go near php-nuke.

Wordpress is the way to go, and the mod-rewrite is an important thing.

    Totally agree.

The mod-rewrite is a lot easier to setup in Wordpress as well. They also have a top class community to help non developers like myself.
