How long before a new merchant converts?
In light of our tolerance level poll I thought it'd be nice to do a poll on how quickly you can convert a merchant. Please indicate the average number of days it takes for you to convert a merchant after adding them for the first time.

I could click off every box on that one. Depends if my site is a good match, if the portion of the site I add them too gets good traffic, if I do PPC with them and how well I do it for them, lots of factors.

I meant it to be the average amount of time. I know there are quite a few factors involved, but it's nice to have a site that converts quickly.

...with just regular search engine free traffic the average for a good match for any of my sites is anywhere from 5 days to a month.

What lourlour said. Depends on the season, site and how well the merchant converts. Some sites (or pages) of mine are so heavily trafficked all the time that if a "new" merchant doesn't convert in a targeted spot, I yank them off after a few weeks. Mostly because I have seen "new" merchants start to convert the first day on those pages so I figure most should convert rather quickly. I don't like assuming the responsibility for conversions ... think that's the merchant's job. Mine's to get the traffic to their site (pre-sold, targeted traffic is always a plus LOL).
    Peace,

Depends on so many factors. The most important one being when the traffic starts coming in. Then it should be a day or two if the A) merchant converts reasonably well, and B) there is reasonable traffic flow/exposure for that merchant's offers.
