Thumbs up LinkShare Removes Cookie Stuffer eDealInfo
    Hi All

Some good news in my mail box, it would appear that eDealInfo a long time member of LinkShare has been removed for cookie stuffing.

    Cheers

    I can't believe it.
eDealinfo.com was a long time member of LinkShare and one of Steve Messer favorite sites. Just before eBates.
    3) eDealinfo.com
    4) Ebates.com

Is something changing at LinkShare? Or somebody used the delete button by mistake.
Ben Edelman talked about them with videos, Cookie-Stuffing and Targeting Major Affiliate Merchants in 2004.

    Thanks for the info, Chris.

I didn't not remember this thread. Time goes fast, but problems are still the same.
I see eDealinfo.com is a SAS affiliate, now. PCMicroStore.com. Could be interesting to check if they are cookie stuffing this program.

I've seen that affiliate making a complete mess of CJ merchants all the time.

Recently, have seen him moving into SAS more as well.

I can't wait for Kellie's new service to roll out so that I'll easily be able to see what this character is up to - and so I can see which merchants give a damn enough to use Kellie's service to more quickly and easily police their program.

Excellent. Only 17.5 months after I posted a report of cookie-stuffing by edealinfo.

I wonder why it took 17.5 months to take action here?

Ben we just get to sniff the slime trails these cookie stuffing wanks leave behind. You get to go in there a blow up their s*it. I guess we just don't hear about the others getting the boot til someone like you of Ms B raise some red flags about specific rogue affiliates. In the past we just looked for the Titanium award announcements or some new CJ showcase affiliate getting facetime there. ABW would love to know the top 50 earners in every merchant's program. Those constantly showing up on the various merchant lists are subject to cookie sniffing tests...

They also rip people's exclusive coupons right and left.
here are a few of mine they have posted:

    15% off $30 or more! CLEVERMOM 12/31/2006
$5 off entire order! CLVR 12/31/2006
$5 off entire order! CLEVERMOMS 06/30/2006
20% off entire order! CLEVERMOM 06/30/2006
    15% off entire order! CleverMom-15P 06/30/2006

If you have exclusives for your site, you can find them all there. Pathetic.

This should be taken up in the Linkshare forum. I dare say that Linkshare has a policy against one affiliate ripping off the content of another.
Copying your coupons = ripping off your content.

    Hi Anne

Are those from an AMWSO merchant, I don't think they are, but let me know and we'll follow up.

    Cheers

    Thanks Chris,
Not sure, they have quite a few of our codes posted, but they also have EVERYONE'S exclusives , not just mine. They must check everyone's site daily to rip them.

I am glad that most affiliates are honest, people like this give us all a very bad name.

When I loaded that page I got no cookies. I had to click to get to the coupon before the merchant's window was opened. That is fine because it requires a click.

Yes it is a click, but the link says you are going to get coupon, not to the merchant's site.

The point is the visitor still not know he/she will get a forced click to the merchant site, other than the coupon window.

If this is OK, then "previous click" that lead to this landing page can also be count as a click, a forced click to the merchant site on this page is ok too, because "previous click" is also a click.

Well I am impressed, it looks like they have removed all our our exclusive coupons and I actually didn't see any other similar site exclusives there now either.

Although it is an unethical thing when someone swipes exclusive codes with competitorsí names in them, it is honorable when they recognize the error in judgment and correct their actions by removing the codes.
