Hi All,
I am supposed to start a matrimonial site,

The concept is that interested males from usa, uk, and the rest of the west contact me and send me their description...As we have our matchmakers...We are gonna match the details with over than 1000's of girls and find them the right match...

So what would you suggest the name would and should be...

Something like angloindianmarriages ?

Regards
TGO

Uh, what's wrong with anglo women? We outnumber the men as it is.

Of course, a lot of us just don't want to marry.

Now, I might if I could find a smokin', Pagan, male in his late 50s who would be sure not to get sick before I do and could afford to maintain the life I aspire to and who was willing to live here and shut up.

SSanf,

Jeeez, If I was a pagan and wasn't scared sheetless of my girlfriend getting jealous I would try to maintain the life you aspire. As for shutting up. He he, that would be like shutting Haiko up when he believes in something

TGO, if I wasn't scared sheetless of my GF beating the living daylights out of me I would give you a description of me. Of course I would lie about my looks and all but I would give you a good description. I've always found Indian women to be attractive.

Hey, BTW TGO, how is my favorite Indian dad Patrick doing???

Sounds like a bad business model in a country known for arranged marriages.

He is introducing the young ladies who want to get married to gentlemen with honorable intentions.

Matchmaking is an old and honorable profession.

Beats picking up some unknown in a bar like so many here do.

I think it is a good idea as long as the couple have a chance to get to know each other, have free choice and can make an informed decision.

With our divorce rate, matchmaking couldn't do much worse than our system.

P.S. I think Indians have beautiful eyes.

P.P.S. It's the shut up part that always blows them away and I just can't compromise my standards on that.

I don’t know what you guys are talking about, I don’t figure there is anything wrong with this.

My marriage was arranged, My wife arranged it. I am also quiet AND I am keeping her in the style that she was accustomed to. Thank goodness that her life style was pretty basic. Maybe that’s why she picked me  Hmmm, have to think about that.

Anyway, after 10 years (this month sometime), I am still quiet, I mean, what is the point in arguing? If it is something I or she believe in strongly enough, we will do it anyway. No arguments you see

Yeessss Dear, of course Dear ABSOLUTLY. Hmmm, what was that you said?
$5000 for the dress I said was OK to buy

Thinking about it, you should make your site Indian Indian marriages, as your idea does sound like brides for sale.

If the Indian community is anything like the Chinese community, there are a lot of guys and girls out there that are too busy creating business to find a partner. By the time they get around to thinking about it, they feel it is too late, have no connections and do not know where to start.

Seriously, why not arrange marriages between Indian men and Anglo women, too?

I know it is a very different culture but aren't Indian men adaptable? Is it that they just cannot stand the idea of independent women being able to hold there own with them? Do they just find Anglo women unattractive? Do they think we can't cook? (Then they should cook their own food.) Do they all just want to stay in India? Or, is there a great imbalance of the sexes and India needs to get rid of a few women?

What's the story?

Ssanf, a Canadian girlfriend of mine married an Indian guy...it last 9 days!
Kelly refused to talk about it,only that it was "hell" even now years later the topic is off limits.

I do have a feeling it had something to do with him gaining citizenship, which would be pretty demoralizing and from what I've gathered is rife in the Indian community.

Do I get some sort of commission for each one I marry?

What's with the anglo part? UK okay, they're anglo but is America? I think an America-UK/India idea might be more accurate.

Sice you mentioned "rest of the west" maybe just western-indianmarriages?

Oh, I am sure it is about citizenship. But, fair trade is no theft. He/she gets citizenship the other gets a husband or wife. This is fair as long as the terms are mutually agreeable. Apparently, they weren't for your friend. They should have known each other better.
(The presumption, of course, is that accident of birth place is the best tool of negotiation that the citizen has to attract a life partner.)

Ha! she fell in love with him, thought he was the best thing since sliced bread, and those big brown eyes were to die for...
He strung her along for 8 months until the day they got married then he turned.
How was this honorable?
"fair trade is no theft. He/she gets citizenship the other gets a husband or wife."

Perhaps I'm just a romantic, but I thought most people get married because of love and not because of any material gains.

Well, heck, the same thing happened to me and I married an American I had dated of over a year. I sure did love him, too. Never even moved into the same house, it was so bad. I admit to temporary insanity. Love does that sometimes.

"Perhaps I'm just a romantic, but I thought most people get married because of love and not because of any material gains."

Bullroar! People get married for lots of reasons. Remember love and a bus token will get you downtown but that's about all it will get you.

And, romantic love is usually a memory in two or three years, anyhow. Go for really liking the person and you will do better.
