    GetaData Problems
    I just ran a php GetData Store through the w3 validator and here are the results:

    Result: Failed validation, 191 errors
    File: upload://Form Submission
    Encoding: utf-8
    Doctype: (no Doctype found)

    No DOCTYPE found! Attempting validation with XHTML 1.0 Transitional.

    The sites I use the Goldencan are validated before anything else is done, unfortunately I can't use these as they are and was eagerly waiting for the new GetData stores. If you can correct this then it would be beneficial for everyone.

    I would appreciate it if you can also use CSS instead of Font tags and the like, this is very important for proper seo optimization.

    Thank you for the post.

    GoldenCAN GetData is now 100% valid document according to W3 Validation.

    Remember you might get a validation error if you try to pass only the data returned by GetData. GetData only returns the page text. You will need to insert this text inside a valid HTML page before you do the testing.

    We are working on the CSS instead of "Font Tags". feature will be available soon.

    Why are you worrying about validation? I hardly ever see an affiliate site that will validate.

    Hey Jackson,

    I don't want to speak for glinted, but the best part of GetData is that it's "Search Engine Food", and being validated makes it even more search engine friendly.

    I love the new features having implemented all of them now and agree that the SEO benefits are great, however validation doesn't affect yor rankings IMO.

    Since nobody really knows, Asif's made it so that if it does matter, GetData is validated.

    I don't think validation will affect your rankings either, but I've seen some pages posted on ABW for review and the mark up was so bad i think it may actually stop spiders in their tracks and that would harm their chances of getting serp'd in the first place.

    I did validate a few site sections of my own over the last few weeks and I don't know if it's my imagination but they do seem to be rendering quicker in the browser now, hard to tell though.

    there are many benefits to validating and have had many discussions in past (lots of info out there), im just glad its been taken care of.

    I have tried the php version & works ok but the asp version I get the following error:

    Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0414'

    Cannot use parentheses when calling a Sub

    /temp.asp, line 10

    objXMLHttp.Open("GET", URL, False)

    I apologize about that.

    Please use the same line without the ( )

    objXMLHttp.Open "GET", URL, False

    Exactly as it is as I get from Goldencan

    <%
    Dim SID, URL, PageURL, objXMLHttp
    SID = "296C645C-2CD0-4FEC-8A6F-6D1D96248796"
    PageURL = Request.ServerVariables("URL")
    PageURL = PageURL & "?" & Request.ServerVariables("QUERY_STRING")
    PageURL = Server.UrlEncode(PageURL)

    URL = "http://si.goldencan.com/GetData.aspx?SID=" & SID & "&PageURL=" & PageURL
    objXMLHttp = Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP")
    objXMLHttp.Open "GET", URL, False
    objXMLHttp.Send()
    Response.Write(objXMLHttp.responseText)
    %>

    I found the problem we are missign the word "SET" before this line.

    Code:
    objXMLHttp = Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP")
    We have updated the code at GoldenCAN.

    here is the final code.

    Code:
    <%
    Dim SID, URL, PageURL, objXMLHttp
    SID = "296C645C-2CD0-4FEC-8A6F-6D1D96248796"
    PageURL = Request.ServerVariables("URL")
    PageURL = PageURL & "?" & Request.ServerVariables("QUERY_STRING")
    PageURL = Server.UrlEncode(PageURL)

    URL = "http://si.goldencan.com/GetData.aspx?SID=" & SID & "&PageURL=" & PageURL
    SET  objXMLHttp = Server.CreateObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP")
    objXMLHttp.Open "GET", URL, False
    objXMLHttp.Send()
    Response.Write(objXMLHttp.responseText)
    %>
