Bidding on trademarked terms in ringtone market
I want to run a campaign on Adwords in the ringtones market where I bid on trademarked terms. Do some merchants not allow this? My affiliate manager says I cannot do so as there is some conflict of interest. But I am not 100% sure I trust what he says all the time!

Can someone clarify this for me please, especially if you have knowledge of the ringtone market?

    Thanks,

    Jon

Enticing victims by offering free ringtones is just a few steps removed from free screensavers and free child porn. Are you some type of affiliate scumbag using trademarks on 3rd world PPCSE's to generate infestation fees for the BHO's?? Their sure isn't any legit money in pushing ringtones.

Obviously having a bad day and can't contain the chip on your shoulder. Take your spite out on someone else. Ringtones have nothing to do with child porn. I would rather have comments from those who don't assume the worst about others and don't blab on without intelligent comment.

Intelligent comment is there is no money to be made on promoting ringtones ...period. The only money flows from your using Trademark PPCSE or SERP spamming to entice visitors for some other money making scheme... I'm sure those holding and paying dearly for the trademark/brands frown on traffic and privacy info peddlers & manipulators.

Take AzoogleAds obvious exploitation of this ringtone market at http://www.free-tones-now.com/verizon.htm http://www.free-tones-now.com/sprint.htm etc etc
Their privacy policy says it all .... fill in that phone # and your info is peddled to every Adwhore spammer they know ... http://offers2.spicymint.com/privacy.htm

Not from experience..just an assessment...I'd have to agree there is likely very little money in the way of ringtones. I just can't see that as a big money maker. As for bidding on brand names, some firms allow this...or simply don't care to do anything about it, but most do not allow it these days.

Still, just because they may not mind or care about folks bidding on their brand name does not mean some person on the ad network will feel the same and approve your ad(s).

You're asking the wrong people. You partner with a merchant, you ask them. It's the only answer that counts if you want to do PPC with that merchant. If you don't like the answer, move on.
