    "So Bloomingdale's has an affiliate program?"

    Yep, about a week or so ago at Linkshare. I do pretty good with department store type merchants.

    Silly boy, it's Bloomies, not Bloomys. No wonder they haven't approved you yet.

    lol If you've got Nordstrom's I'm sure they'll approve you They're pretty similar type stores. Think in one of Redford's movies he referred to them as Bloomingbirds.

    Hey All,
    Bloomingdales is a private program and joining the program is by invitation. However, if you would like to be considered for this program, you can email your case to Bloomingdales@linkshare.com. Good luck!

    Hello Ranae,

    I wanted to reach out to you in regard to current status of Bloomingdales' Affiliate Program.

    We are a new comparison shopping site focused on green products. It is quite an ambitious start up effort.

    We very much want to work with Linkshare and Bloomies. Can we possibly do so? If so, is there a data feed in Merchandiser?

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Did you try emailing the email in your quote for an answer? I think you will have a better chance of getting in if you ask someone there or at Linkshare instead.

    I saw this morning that Bloomies web sales are going well. So well that they are going to discontinue their catalog.

    Bloomingdale's will discontinue its catalog and focus on the web

    Upscale department store Bloomingdale's will discontinue its mail order catalog by 2009 and focus its direct-to-consumer business on the web. The retailer says growth in sales at Bloomingdales.com has "far outpaced" catalog sales in recent years.

    The department store chain says the phasing out, which will occur over the next eight months, will streamline operations and enable it to concentrate on its e-commerce business.

    "Bloomingdale's is focused on growing its online business, increasing profitability and reflecting a seamless brand and merchandise selection, whether it be in store or online," says Michael Gould, Bloomingdale's CEO. "As more customers turn to the web for access to Bloomingdale's, their shopping experience must be brand-right. We intend to implement various enhancements to the web experience, including ones that can bring to life some of our celebrated special events."
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The posts above mention that Bloomies seems to be difficult to get approveed for, maybe even a private program... so I checked the usual BHOs and every one that I checked is in their program... UPromise, ShopAtHome, MyPoints, eBates and on and on. So perhaps on your application you might mention that you plan to steal from them, they seem to like that.
    LinkShare's probably told them how "great" these BHO affiliates are... shame on LinkShare.
    Something to think about... as Blommies sends out their catalogs, many of those people will then buy online... and these BHOs will magically drop a cookie and claim they "made" the sale... in the sales reports Bloomies reads, this will diminish the apparent value of sending out the catalog... and now it's being discontinued...
    Bloomies, I hope you know what you're doing... and the prevalence of BHOs tells me that you don't.
    Very true Donuts. In this case, I wonder if the prevalence of BHO's and other low value affiliates will outweigh the cost of the new postage increases. Catalogers everywhere are scrambling.
