Cool The "Can't Use PM" Thing
I read the posts explaining lack of access to PM and I understand them. But there is a "you have 1 PM" up there staring me in the face.

That's okay. I'm not all that curious.

But wouldn't it be a better idea to tell the sender, "This guy has no access to PMs yet, so your PM will not be sent."

Otherwise, maybe the sender thinks I'm irresponsible for not replying to him/her.

Yes. With a notification to the site administrator when it happens, in case someone is trying to send spam mail by PM.

Otherwise, maybe the sender thinks I'm irresponsible for not replying to him/her.
Well then, before sending PMs to noobs they need to RTFM.

Had to go*gle for RTFM and turned out to be what I thought it would be.

*scrambles to Google 'RTFM' to figure out what M means, too*

AHA! I love it. Will be adopting it into my vocab. Very good one, WW!

There's also RTSL, often heard in disgust among programmers when a newbie is asking too many questions (I suppose it could apply to webmasters and affiliates too):

    "Read The Source, Luke!"

And one that Haiko and others might like to use for newbies: STGFF ("Search The Goddam Forum First")

Another good one, stolen from the tech support/call centre world: telling a caller "it doesn't look good. What you've got here is a PEBCAK error".

Does using profanity send all Christians to hell? F***ing harsh! Good thing I'm an atheist and realize that profanity is just fun words that we for some reason tell kids not to say.

    GRose --

You're missing out. Saying those words (and especially shouting at the top of your lungs) is very cathartic and liberating. Try it sometime!

Rosie, sounds like you need one of these rings even more than Billy K. does.

Thanx for the lead I have been looking for a good supplier of these rings to affiliate with also trying to convince a few other suppliers of them to link to my CP shop on Purity.
