Just shows affiliates using the new domains right? That just shows the qksrv.net. Not all the new ones they have.

LinkShare shows the same... nothing precipitous, but what appears to be a sloping downward slightly trendline.

ShareASale does not, appears pretty flat.

But hey, it's Alexa, so you can't make biz decisions off of minor trends.

(i.e., if CJ has their employees all install the toolbar, they'd look great.)

I see some of that with the other domains too. You can tell there have been times CJ was definitely down. Looks like something happend in mid/late March and early April.

i'm no big fan of cj, but it's more like the hood of my car than a flush... and there's soooo many factors that can mask the true traffic picture...

OK guys please explain I know that the list on the left is included in the links with CJ but don't understand why it refers to them as sites. I realize it's saying the traffic is declining but don't understand why they are listed as sites. Is it just the amount of affiliate links with that included in them and they're counted or referred to as sites? Can't help it and know it's a dummy question but would somebody please explain

Granted, it is a gental slope, but check out the numbers. It went from an average of a little more than five million to and averge of about three million. That's almost a drop of 50%. I think that IS significant.

I agree that there are a lot of factors that could be causing this reaction. It will be interesting to watch over the next few months and see what happens.

Not only am I not a big CJ fan, but I don't put much weight in the whole Alexa deal either even though some live and breath it as the gospel of a websites importance.

What I do see is if you look at Site Stats for allthosecjdomains.com

    Right under that you have:
Traffic Rank for and they all have down arrows.

But these new links are still pretty new so it's going to take some time to see any trends. I expect down, down, down.

I found it hard to miss the obvious down time in late march and early april across some of the domains. I think the data comes from toolbars and such, but all things being equal with about 1/2 of the domains listed showing roughly the same drop to 0 traffic.....NASA we have a problem

Rest ASSured tracking was not effected

Actuallly those drops to "0" traffic are usually a problem with Alexa tracking and not with the site itself. I have seen those trends over the past 4 years with Alexa on some of my sites when Alexa wouldn't track anything for a week, but our site(s) was up and had the same amount of traffic it always had. Then it would pick it back up and start up again. It's those types of things that make me question the complete validity of Alexa's tracking.

So those drops don't mean that CJ's servers were down at all. IME.

    Gamer,

I can see stuff like that happening, but before posting I went back through the previous CJ threads and although the date points moved based on last post (date) there seemed to be a bit of question on how CJ was doing durring the same time span.

    http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=71912 (april 7th)
    http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=71403 (march 24th..maintenance)

So the truth might lay somewhere in between.

BTW Thanks for pointing out the dips you've seen

That explains. Last resort for CJ is to switch to Java Script.
