Ssanf, it's good!
How many subscribers have you got?
I just started collecting e-mail addresses for my own opt-in mailing list yesterday - I got 2 subscribers so far!
I have no idea how to write a newsletter yet, but worry about that later.
I've seen some newsletters come in either text or html, did you just go for a html version, can all email programs handle it ok?

Ummm so how do you actually send out your newsletter from a technical point of view.. do you do it manually or use a third-party?

I'm quite keen on newsletters, but I don't want to be accidentally reported for spamming - so this can be done through a third party can't it?

Umm I guess I want Newsletters 101

SSanf,

I clicked on the "Last Issue" link and found a couple that looked about the same. Consistent is good.

Then, just as I was about to click my back button, I thought, It would be nice to have a "Get the Next Issue" link right next to that "Last Issue" link. When they get to the current issue, it could take them to the sign-up page.

Nice Job on getting your newsletter going to subscribers. For those looking to start their own e-zine then forget about using Sparklist since they just laid off most of their sales staff. Many of these types of ASP ( application service providers) have gone under leaving their FREE subscribers holding the bag.

No need to use a third party just go HERE and check out this cgi program. It is almost like topica as the subscribers have to confirm their subscription so you can not be accused of spam. You can create a newsletter in html and text and send it to your list and if your mail box is set to receive html they will get the html version if not they will get the text version. I had a list over 1000 when I switched over to this program and 3/4 resubscribed to my list after I made them confirm they wanted to be on the list.
I have been experimenting with
Subscriberdrive
It is to increase your opt-in list. I have been averaging about 20 to 30 new signups a day so far. They seem to be growing and can be targeted towards the theme of your site.
I do not get any money for signups just impressions from the downline if anyone is interested in a referral link pm me

Sorry, it took so long to respond.

I am having some major burnout.

Too many projects going and a meeting last night. <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>how do you actually send out your newsletter from a technical point of view.. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Actually, one of the ABWers is helping me with that. So, I don't have a lot to say except the program is fri**ing fantastic. Even I can do it!

I don't want to say who it is in case they would rather I didn't.

Only 3 so far have asked to be removed.

Freetwalk,

What subjects are targeted in the Subscriberdrive newsletters? I'd like to see a list. I am generally anti-popup, but would like to check this out. If you PM me a URL, I may signup under you.

There are also regular text links you can add to your site but in my case I do find the exit windows more effective towards the imperssions.
Well let me rephrase this: you can statistically get signups without the popups if you refer enough people that do use the exit windows.

Great newsletter and I signed up for it!

Went to visit your site and I love the graphics available.

I don't see where there's a need for dark glasses and a wig at all. Good job
