How to point from my site to merchant site
What do guys use as anchor text for links pointing from your site to merchant site?
I am trying to find a good text for the visitor..for the link
    pointing to the merchant site..

    something like
    <a href="merchant.xyz\affid=haha">Add to cart</a>
    or
    <a href="merchant.xyz\affid=haha">Buy from merchant.xyz</a>
    or
    <a href="merchant.xyz\affid=haha">"product name"</a>

what do u guys use...sometimes the product names are too long..and the link
looks spammy.. does "Add to cart" work? but its not ethical..since they are not actually adding to cart....what usually works?

    suggestions please.

For me it depends where the link is heading. Most of the time I link to the merchants home page because of the type of site I have so it's usually Merchant.com

If the links goes to a clearance page or sale page, I put that in the link.

If it goes to a product page, I use the product as the text.

Different ways but the text should match the destination for the most part. Depends on what you got going on.

what do u do if the product text is too long...

    what do u think of

    <a href="merchant.xyz\affid=haha">Buying Info</a>
    or
    <a href="merchant.xyz\affid=haha">Buy Here</a>
    or
    <a href="merchant.xyz\affid=haha">Buy Now</a>
    or
    <a href="merchant.xyz\affid=haha">"Product Price"</a>

I don't do too much product stuff, it's rare for me but when I do I use more along the lines of your first example, Buying Info or More Info etc. When I shop online and see Buy Now, I associate that with adding something to the cart. So I like More Info better. I like my links kind of short too, so I usually just have the product name as the link like George Foreman Grill surrounded by some sales copy. People do it different ways, so it's good to try some different ways out and see what you find works for you.

It totally depends on what you're selling and how you're selling it. If the product name is too long or not understandable, change it to something you think your visitors will recognize. Hard to give you suggestions without knowing your specific dilemma.
