On Saturday, I drove down to the I.U. / Kent State basketball game in Lexington, Kentucky. In between Louisville and Lexington, there amidst the rolling hills was an honest to god castle. Not an oversized home, a dang castle. With turrets, a huge wall, everything. Someone spent millions on this thing. It was a private residence, apparently, because it had a 'no trespassing' sign on the fence surrounding the property.

Here was my view of the area:

    Horse Farm
    Horse Farm
    Horse Farm
    HUGE MEDIEVEL CASTLE
    Horse Farm
    Horse Farm.........

    lol, what's up with that?

Well, I didn't know about that one, but there is a Castle in Nebraska (it's online somewhere, but I didn't go look for it) -- I know because I have a friend who got married there.

I had pretty much the same reaction... a CASTLE in NEBRASKA???

The castle in Nebraska....there is one in omaha, Joslyn Castle..., it was privately owned, then it belonged to the local school board for many many years, then right before I moved from the area it was used for traveling exhibits...I went to see the Anne Frank exhibit there.

It is a few minutes from where I live.

A lot of us around here dream of making it into a Pagan community center.

Fat chance that will ever happen. Even if we could buy it, we would need tons of cash to fix it the way we would want.

Oh well, we can dream, can't we?
