July 13th, 2006, 02:54 PM #1What is this? My CJ ID on a LS merchant's page?
I just saw my CJ idea showing up on a merchants page I was visiting. It is showing up in the lower left corner of the page.
Here's the kicker...they are no longer a CJ merchant, rather a LS merchant. I clicked through the linkshare link on my site and it still shows my CJ ID on the merchant's page. It shows "110.XXXXXXX"
I opened up Firefox and typed the merchants domain directly. In the lower left corner it says "0."
Using firefox I clicked on my sites LS link...it now shows "110."
What type of tracking is this? Why doesn't the Linkshare over-ride the CJ code? I guess I'm totally confused b/c I never saw anything like this before? My sales have been very low since this merchant moved to LS and I was wondering if this could be a problem?

Could the "110." be part of your computer's IP address, or is the 110 part of your cjID?Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety. Benjamin Franklin-1752

No...the X's are my ID. They went to Linkshare a short while ago, but are permanently off of CJ as of July. It's Montgomery Wards, Homevisions, and Yours Kids Direct. Perhaps it's an old way of tracking that I just never noticed before and they have yet to remove it. I'll clear out my cache.
Thanks so much for the input. I'm always learning new things and was curious about this! Hmmm...that would be nice for phone orders!
