Unfortunately, MSN Search still has its spam problems.

Well, I guess as long as our spam can out-rank other people's spam it's all A-OK.

That is exactly what I mean!

semi-white SEO is practiced by those who THINK that they are lily-white but through no fault of their own produce a page that ranks do to MSN faults.

Most "off-color" SEOs think that this is hysterical.

    Bill's gift
I hear tell Bill is into philanthropy; it could be called the "Erik Selberg Grey Hat Foundation"

Any self-respecting white hat who's rooted in reality knows that when you ride the SEO choo-choo you end up getting soot on your too-too.

White hat purity is nothing more than a marketing ploy that's rooted in self-delusion in most cases.

Cool reading how they auto catch search engine spammers (it's not another email spam article).

Lots of data and screenshots from many case studies. Near the end, they draw a few general conclusions and describe what their project may lead others to think and do to combat the shitola from continuing to be everywhere. I liked the part I bolded below a lot...

"We urge owners of blog sites and free hosting sites to actively monitor their websites to detect abuse. Similarly, advertisement syndicators can detect potential spammers by monitoring those customers who serve ads on a huge number of different URLs through a single account because it is highly unlikely that anyone can generate quality content at that scale."

One of the case studies found a spammer who has over 5,000 sites and are all using the same adsense account to monetize the crappy auto-scraped spam content. Google's supposed to be a bunch of geniuses right - so am I to conclude that they couldn't filter out this garbage -or- that they decided not to...
