    good travel sites/forums?
i'm looking for a few sites to check out for travel ideas/info/advice.
i've been reading lonely planet and a few random other sites, anyone have favorites? not for booking airfare/hotels, but for getting actual travel info...

    Some of my favorites:

    www.tripadvisor.com
    www.flyertalk.com

I have other favorites, but they are affiliate sites and you can't post affiliate sites here.

After your read these, if you use priceline, go to biddingfortravel.com to save.

thanks for the ideas. i had forgotten about tripadvisor, thats a good one. the lonely planet forums seem to have a ton of good information.

i also recently purchased a "rough guide" book, and i'm pretty happy with it. in the past i've used frommers, fodors, and lonely planet books, and this one actually seems better. so far at least...

    for flights i like...
i love playing with the kayak buzz tool: http://www.kayak.com/h/buzz
and i've found great deals on the semi-new yahoo farechase: http://farechase.yahoo.com
and of course i like to check expedia, travelocity, orbitz, etc..

You might be familiar with this site already (http://www.magellans.com), but they have an interesting feature that allows you to select your destination and you can get information about travel needs for that specific region. They also have section titled Travel Tips and Travel Articles. Just click on Travel Advice at the top of the page. Hope this helps!
