Question: Anyone with a SAS only site affected by this?
While posting in another thread, I had an idea. Could SAS links be immune to Google's madness?

Does anyone here have a site with only Shareasale links that has been affected by this round of affiliate whacking? Just curious.

I only have a few campaigns, but they all point to SAS merchants. None affected so far. Is there a "fingers crossed" smily?

I'm not 100% convinced there's deliberate affiliate-whacking going on (with Yahoo yes at times, Google not so sure about).

I'm suspecting a "vague" possibility that Google's having some parsing problems that could be triggered by CSS or HTML issues, based on things I've seen with some pages. So I ran a couple of pages through a validator and CJ & LS links pulled up validation error messages - but there weren't any SAS links on those pages.

It might be worth checking pages using the W3C Validator to see if SAS links get a clean bill of health.

SAS links won't validate either. I'm betting this ain't the problem.

    HMMMMMM....same here Scooter. That's interesting.

I vote we delete this thread so Google doesn't see it...

After you wrote this, I checked my pages, and sure enough, ones not affected were all SAS based.

    Think you found something.

Then again, why would G leave SAS alone?? I'm pretty positive they know about them. What's special about SAS that they determine to be kosher with their policies?

What type of whacking are your talking about? Natural SERP whacking or the Adwords whacking taking place?

Yeah, I had SAS pages that got whacked too. In fact, they were my first ads to get whacked. =( I suggest we offer a new definition of the term "googlewhack".

Or, if I was 15 years younger, I'd say GWNd instead of PWNd.

If you don't get that, you probably don't want to. More trouble explaining than it's worth...

But what about a site that promotes only a (or more than one) Sas merchant(s)? I think they are targetting domains. I know they are. The very same content on another domain yields much better results bid-wise.

Does anyone have a site that promotes only a SAS merchant that got whacked? I know of two people who have posted that they are unscathed by this and they do a lot of work with SAS.

I think I am on to something here. I will tell you by this time tommorrow!

"I think they are targetting domains. I know they are."

Just to make sure I understand what you're saying, you mean like CJ, LS, Performics etc?
