Getting more involved with affiliates / community
Hi, I have recently been put in charge of a LinkShare merchant account for a medium sized company in a somehwhat competitive industry when it comes to online affiliates.

I wanted to know how I can get more involved in the "Affiliate Community" if such a thing exists. Are there MIRC channels where affiliates tend to go? What sorts of resources exist out there for me to go and begin building direct relationships with dedicated online sellers?

Because my industry is competitive, I feel that I need to be putting work into building personal relationships with my affiliate base.

    Any ideas? Thanks

You could go somewhere else and hide your program. Here at ABW exposure to 25,000 affiliates (several hundred active and others lurking) means you have faith your program converts better then the competition and pays commissions on 100% of the referral sales. Not all LS merchants meet these simple tests.

ecomcity, Do you get a lot of competitive behavior in here? i.e. two companies fighting with one another openly in the forums? I can understand why it would be good to fly under the radar a little and make affiliate contacts in a somehwat non-overt manner -

At the moment Im more interested in taking a look around, seeing what life is like at ABW. Thanks alot!

Wonder what company you represent??? LOL.

And to answer your question, all "competitive merchant behavior" I have seen has always been professional. It's more likely to see 2 affiliates flaming each other to virtual death than 2 merchants.
