I got this message when I clicked on a merchant's link
I joined and got approved for a merchan in SAS, then after a few weeks I was adding their links and got the message below, when I clicked on the link.

Do we get this message on click of a link if a merchant's balance is low?

It is a bit difficult for me to monitor which merchant's funds are low and keep my links updated.

I would prefer giving those merchants free traffic instead of having to see a message like this:

There are a number of reasons that you may have received this message. The most common is that the merchant who was advertising is temporarily not-actively promoting that program. If, however, you feel you have reached this page in error, please let us know. Shareasale.com does not tolerate or send any SPAM mail to anyone. If you feel you have been targeted by a SPAM message, we would appreciate if you could forward the message to us at abuse at shareasale.com.

Shareasale.com manages the relationships between advertisers and affiliates, which is why you were directed to our site. Since the link that you clicked is not currently active, you were not redirected to the site.

If you are a new affiliate, your links will not be active until Shareasale.com gets a chance to review your account - you will receive an email when your account is approved and links are activated. This process generally takes around 24 business hours.

THAT'S the dead link message that customers would see?!?

It...definitely needs improvement. It's too much information to show a potential buyer.

Yes, the buyers on an affiliate site see this message when they click on a dead link.

If a link becomes a dead link, it's hard for me to keep track of which links became dead if this happens when the merchant's funds go low.

In any case, this is too much information for a buyer and can trash the reputation of a good affiliate site. There should be no mention of SAS in this message.

The message should just read, something like:

"This link is broken, please contact the web administrator of this website."

You can set a custom link, I am sure Brian or Carolyn will pop in and explain how I just know it's there in the account somewhere....

sorry about the duplicate post, didn't know there was a customize message option available.

but still, i wish the default message wasn't this revealing, hope they change the default message to a smaller message.
