i know, but why JS text links from other affiliate networks can be launched in a new window ? and those JS ones can't.

Secondly, i am hesitant to to put more old format html links to webpage, as i have to remove them in one day based on CJ current decision.

I remember it being a problem, have no idea if they fixed it or not since I don't use js links. Maybe someone who does knows? If there are any people out there that are using them?

The LMI links use forms rather than standard HTML anchor tags for the links. The images for the lmi links really are form buttons. If you look at the code you will see that CJ opens a form, then stuffs the banner in an input-image type form box. I guess they think sending the data post rather than get is more secure.

This, by the way, is a big problem for people who put LMI tags on pages with their own forms as the CJ form can get confused with the web site's forms.

Anyway, the right click does not work on form buttons. To fix this problem CJ would have to use regular links. They are too contemptuous of a company to do that.

Looks like users who like to use their right mouse button and firefox are SOL if they encounter LMI links.

    Open link in new window
    Open link in new Tab
    Bookmark Link
    Save Link as
    Send Link

    no can do-ee

I was told that the non-clickable links in Firefox it "a firefox restriction".

Guess CJ doesn't realize the large amount of Firefox users that are out there that will not be able to see the links. That or they don't care.

about 99% of CJ's JS links dont work in Firefox -

About 25% of the Internet uses Firefox.

I told CJ cutomer service about this.

They said they will fix it, just have to wait........

    CJ links work in firefox.

The LMI links do not allow the "right click - open in new window" option. This is true in both Firefox and Internet Explorer. The reason for this is that the LMI links use HTML FORMs rather than HTML Anchor links.

This is a big issue for all users as it disrupts standard user browsing behaviour. It is true that you can force links to open in a new window. This is considered bad netiquette by most web programmers.

Using forms rather than html links sounds like a good idea. However, HTML standards really don't make the idea practical. The LMI was an extremely bad idea that is doing great harm to affiliates and is also harming the merchants and CJ.

I noticed today that you can choose to use the links as for email. Would this be a solution?

After reading yintercept's post, I went back to my test page and the links are indeed no clickable in Firefox, but.....

I have 5 links coded into the page, on first load, only 2 showed up. I had to hit reload 4 times to get all five links to show up.

I hit reload a few more times just for shits-&-giggles and sometimes all five showed up, and sometimes they didn't.

The average vistor to your site is not going to know how many links 'should' be there and keep hitting reload.

I then tried it in IE and all five show up all the time.

CJ needs to learn to program these links for ALL users, not just IE.

Also, I tried 'shift-click' to open a new window on one of the links, which did open a window, which was blank, so that is a no go.

This thread is just another reminder of how stupid the idea of using Javascript links is.

are those links practically the same as Legacy Link ?

Just test again those cj JS text links

now they works even for open in new window

    but 2 problems

    1.
they are still looking bad on mouseover

    2.
other codes on your webpage may still make the "JS text links-new window" not working at all

the safest bet, use html links

Same here, it's a known problem.

With every software and website there will be bugs, then bugs get fixed and everything starts to work again

    yay!!!
