Remembering CJ in the good old days
Well, this is before my time as an affiliate, but doing a little searching at Archive.org I found one of the first images of CJ's site from 1999, back when they only had 40 merchants and were headquarted in....wait a minute...Minneapolis?

Here is a press release from Nov. 16, 1998 about their grand opening: http://web.archive.org/web/200001162...3&ai_CatId=163

Yeah, they actually called us merchants and affiliates back then.

    Interesting facts...

    Back in 1999:
May 8 site shows 40 merchants.
    Oct. 12 - 160 merchants.
    Nov. 13 - 250 merchants.

    In 2000:
    Mar. 1 - 500 merchants.
CJTV (who remembers what that was?)

Ah, life has certainly changed. CJ grew up, moved out of town and is now shacked up with a domineering, controlling significant other and canít get out of the relationship.

    Good one, 7.

Speaking of parasites, I've been wondering lately who's zooming who, if you get my meaning.

Thanks for the "souvenir", Ron. I signed up with them one year after LS, around 1998. I grew up with them for a while, at least up to 2002. Lex was a great guy. They were a nice alternative to LinkShare between 2000 and 2002. I remember when anything less than $100k a month was a bad month. Now, I'm scared to add CJ links to any of my sites, scared Google is not going to like it.

I've been with CJ five years now. Feels like I'm losing an old friend.

Does anyone recall CJTV? That was before my time and I'm curious what it was about.

Brings back CJ memories like they were just yesterday. Heck I started a CJ merchant program in time for Christmas 1998 for atotal fee of $350.00. Simple interface and it tracked sales like a champ. Guess I was an early bird affiliate with a number like #910 Miss talking to the CJ staff and some merchant during those growth years.

I still have my tchoo tchoo train whistle. I consider it as one of the best gift I received and much more valuable than all these trendy or high tech gifts from Google. How many ABWers have their CJ whistle?

Back in the day when you made your first $100 CJ gave you a whistle. Before my time, for the elders I still want one tho.

There were some old threads with pics but the pages that the pics were on are all gone. I think the only way now is if someone takes a pic of one they have.
