    Dropped today by SkinStore
Wow, got a termination notice from SkinStore today (via CJ enternal mail system). No explanation, just:

We regret to inform you that the Commission Junction advertiser SkinStore.com has chosen to expire its affiliation with you effective 27-Jul-2006.
    .

Well, I sent them an email back stating:

Probably just as well with all the turmoil going on with CJ right now because of LMI. I've stopped adding any new CJ merchants or updating any CJ links and am working with other networks as much as possible until CJ decides what they are going to do.

It was nice working with you over the years. Best of luck.
    Anyone else get terminated today?

Looks like they are still at CJ. Looking at their "What we Expect" section, I guess I fell short on the
That together we will be successful and generate sales and commissions beyond our expectations!
Guess I should have asked what those expectations were.

The links will still work though.

What happens when CJ merchants do this? Does CJ pocket the whole commission, plus network cut, or does the client get a kickback?

Still work? Usually when a merchant gets deactivated the links go to that deactivated message. I do pretty good with them, haven't seen anything yet.

I bet everyone gets a cut but the affiliates. CJ is still providing the vehicle for the links to get to the merchant so they feel they deserve a cut.

I got it too, so I contacted my CJ Account Rep. Turned out they expired a lot of inactive affiliates today and some active ones (including myself) were accidentally included in that group. The Skinstore Account Rep caught it after the email was sent and retracted the terminations, but didn't send a follow-up. Probably a good idea to contact your CJ account rep to find out for sure if you were really terminated.

    Hope this helps.

Just clicked on a deactivated merchants link, goes to:

The link you clicked on has expired. It pointed to a Web site that was a member of the Commission Junction network and has since been deactivated or temporarily suspended. We apologize for any inconvenience.

    http://www.cj.com/expired.html

    Nobody gets anything.

Checking my active merchants I see SkinStore there, but in small red letters it says Ends 27-Jul-2006. So the did not reverse mine it appears.

How do they delete active affiliates (regardless at to if I am one)? Was it a CJ mistake or a merchant mistake?

Should get the same message right? I've had merchants in the past like QVC that deactivated me along with a lot of others but not everybody and got the same message.

"I am not sure how I should respond"

That's easy. Strawberrynet converts better anyway.

I am curious as to why they would expire active affiliates. If an affiliate is inactive it makes sense - but something must be going on. I'd be interested in following this post to see more explanations.

CJ tells them about how it will boost their EPC. And certainly it will.

Doesn't do a goddamend thing for the bottom line though. Merchants/AM's who are out of touch with reality (the bottom line) are useless.

Try Strawberrynet. They may have their little idiosynchrasies, but they don't jerk people around.

Once I created a section around an UK merchant in one of my sites and I thought things were going well. Then I was terminated by them only to be made another offer 2 weeks later (which I accepted reluctantly).

So is this a permanent termination or what?

    [Edit because something strange happened]
Something scary: I was trying to type an apostrophe but something that looks like a spyware panel popped up. This never happened to me as a poster in ABW before.

Is that spyware? What should I do? I often need to type apostrophes here.

Now I can type an ' -- what happened 3 minutes ago?

There was a LeaderMarkets.com banner present on my page and an attribute to LeaderMarkets.com in the url below when this was happening -- just so people are aware.

Well, there is nothing I hate worse than a long standing merchant at a network just dropping folks without any reason what so ever. It's just rude!

I remember when another cosmetic affiliate merchant dropped everyone from CJ -- Ulta used to have a great program! I don't know what happened to Ulta and I wish that SkinStore had not been so abrupt (and final?).

    Hold on, you're missing posts:

If it's a merchant you really want then just contact them, mistakes happen sometimes.
