hmmm...actually these sites are pretty comprehensive and have some good info.

How much do they make per day?

Sanf do you really want to sell or are you looking for some help to deal with all of the sites.

10k per day in traffic is 120,000 per month.
That's more circulation than all the offline Pagan newsletters and newspapers combined.

If it were me, I'd try to pull alot the various contnet parts of the sites together into a coherent "magazine'" type format, passworded it and charge $5 per year for a subscription thru PayPal.

If only 1 in 1,000 signed up for the subscription part you'd be making $50/day.

With all the info you have, you could assemble it all into an eBook and sell it for $5 on PayPal.

Wicca is the fastest growing religion in the USA and the UK. But getting GOOD info on is not all that easy.

Fred, those aren't my sites. They are sites that have gone bankrupt and the owners want to sell. I would like to own them. I do not know how much they make nor what the cost of operation is. I just found out about it and have not yet received answer to my inquiries. But, I do not think they were really trying to make much money. Pagans have a mind set that if they put up something good, the money will follow of its own accord. I have taken years to get over that mind set myself.

My own sites get around 10,000 viewers a day, all combined. But, the viewers are not all Pagan. Most just come for the free stuff and to be entertained. I started as do most Pagans because I just wanted to do something nice for the community. It was not geared to make money from the inception. I knew absolutely nothing about affiliate marketing when they were created.

As to writing books and selling them, there are those who have done such a good job at it that I could never hope to hold a candle to their talent. I would be embarrassed at my own effrontery to even try. Additionally, there would always be naysayers to whatever I wrote and I would become an object of attack and ridicule from assorted different paths. (You can't please everyone) I want to encourage Paganism, not become embroiled in various witch wars.

You see, Pagans are just people like everyone else. We have our problems, too. I would never set myself up as an expert and I want to keep Sanfords.Net out of the crossfire.

I need to sell real tangible products, not information.

Well, time is starting to run out on the auction and people are starting to bid, now.

I think the price will be going up fast.

What a guy!! You are genuinely sweet as pie Haiko!

SSanf, If you get 10K now...., and make no $$ having all these other sites won't fix that. I noticed you had a new site geared more towards selling products to visitors.....thats what you need to focus on.

I would say perhaps diversify a bit, maybe pick one or two pagan names and then get a few sites going that have totally different targeted visitors and products.

I know that the pagan sites are what interests you most, but money is money

just my .02 (worth about .01)

Yep, it says they have that Pagan "Making money from the craft is shameful," mentality.

They didn't have anything at all for sale on the major sites!

I thought Haiko was serious! I have been here trying to get enough information to answer the question for him.

One of the sites does generate 20+k in sales but the cost of doing business eats it all up.

P.S. I never said I make NO money. But, it is piddly compared to most folks here.

    SSanf,

I haven't read the PM yet, but ...

quote:
Greetings... #1.) The reserve price is $3,000 That price covers $500 owed to Jon Simola, (our current host) $275.00 in the required notary fees needed to make the domain transfers, and $1,100 balance on my Mastercard & $1,100 balance on my Visa that the company has maxed out during its tenure in my wallet. In the past, I have put the interests of the websites above my own. It has caused my daughter and I to be evicted from our home twice, and now that we are coming upon the prospect of being homeless yet a third time, It is time to put ourselves first sadly enough. #2.) These are domain names, their data, and traffic ONLY. No hardware comes with ithem, they are being hosted for us. #3.)Jon Simola, ABC Communications, Prince George, British Columbia, Canada. Mr. Simola would love to continue hosting the domains for the new owners as well. spellkit.com & pagancorp.com are hosted w/communitech.net, and both have 3 mos. hosting already prepaid for this quarter www.lovespells.tv is hosted thru XO Communications which is a monthly payment. Mr.Simola again will be happy to host them all, but those details have to be arranged with him after the new owners take possession. #4.) As for certain technical questions, they would be better addressed to Teresa Cavanaugh I am more of the PR/Marketing person, she is much better equipped to answer technical questions. #5.) All of the sites are developed, and currently operating online with the exception of www.paganhosting.com , and www.paganmail.com , www.lovespells.ws which are simply domain names. Thank You. Say what?

Id be cheaper to transfer them out to a decent registrar and then make the changes yourself via their web interface.

Yes, I read it. The real problem is cultural, I do believe.

If they don't get the reserve price, I think they will negotiate.

The spells site sold $20,000 last year but they spent it all on advertising, etc. They never even put up ads on the other sites. It's a Pagan thing.

quote:
>OK, it generated 20+k. That was the gross, if I understand correctly. What
    >was the net profit form that site?
    >

The 20K was considered profit to me, the companies debts (advertising,
hosting, supplies for spellkits, etc...) exceeded the 20k profit, ergo we
    stood at a loss.

The 13th bid isn't being challenged, so far.

Well, the auction is gone. I think bid 13 was the highest. He did not meet the reserve so I guess he will still be able to bargain.
    Dunno.

    Greetings......

We have decided to sell the domains individually, as so many were
    interested in separate domains.

    I'll say this ...

I really respect Raven (admin of Auctionwitch), SSanf, you really should network with him/her.

Would be glad to network, I guess. I'm not really sure exactly what that is.

Helping each other some how, I guess.

Anyhow, they do have a dandy site, don't they?

My son would be the ideal #1 person to run TeenPagan.com! He learned to write HTML when he was 12, been raised Pagan, has the interest and is only 18 now! Also, he has a bit of the ready. Probably just enough. I will tell him ASAP.

    What the HECK!!!!

Whoever you are why did you do that? You knew Haiko was trying to help me. What have I ever done to you??

I am crushed. I certainly hope someone did not do this from some kind of hostility because I am a Pagan interested in Pagan sites.

If you think this kind of abuse will somehow further your own religious agenda, shame, shame, shame on you. I truly hope it was just a prank and not that.

The problem is I will probaby never know.

I don't feel as safe here as I did five minutes ago. Thanks a lot!
