How much do affiliate managers get paid? Someone offered me the job, but we didn't discuss $$ yet. What's the norm?

It varies with experience, level of knowledge and contacts ...

I know some making as little as 35K year and some OPM's making 500K per year.... very wide spread. Entry level, I would guess somewhre at 50K - 75K plus commission. Good luck ...

What if I went commission only, what would be fair to charge?

Depending on margins, I would need to know more about the products, margins etc. Some industries are very lean, (computers) some have wide margins to share...

You will have your work cut out for you ... I wouldn't touch it for less than 50K / year and 5% bonus...

If you have the time, come to my seminar, it's about training affiliate managers and learning the ropes....

OPM = Outsourced Program Manager. Same as an AM but with bigger, multiple vertical rolodex ...

You can also check what the sales managers are getting in the offline equivalent of the business, to get some idea of how it might apply to you.

And some affiliates only get peanuts. Beer and peanuts are okay if you are keeping good company. Sometimes they lead to bigger things.

That really depends on the country, ability, contracts, being employed vs. self emplyed. You can earn a decent income if you know what you're doing, but I guess that's true for most industries.

If they are as big as Bluenile (they are neighbors) they are not going to comp you much of a bonus, their salary range my estimate would be 50-60k plus a small year end bonus. They do have plenty of tiers to management and the affiliate manager is 2-3 tiers down just in the marketing department.
