Angry Linkshare added to BSA List of Shame
Maybe this is why Synergy Analytics has been down. The BSA was raiding Linkshare's computers for rampant use of illegal software.

    Snips:

    http://abcnews.go.com/Technology/ZDM/story?id=2234612

The Business Software Alliance published a list of nineteen companies that settled suits brought against them for unlicensed use, a dramatic jump after the agency began offering bounties earlier this month.

The agency said most of its investigations were begun after an employee of the firm tipped BSA officials off.

LinkShare Corporation, an online performance-based marketing company located in New York, N.Y., paid BSA a total of $89,000 to settle claims that it had unlicensed copies of Adobe, McAfee, Microsoft and Symantec programs installed on office computers.

Using bootleg McAfee software when McAfee is a client. Shame, Shame.

one never knows . . . but it keeps things interesting.

but I think this didn't have a real affect on the bigger computers. I think they got a deal from Telco on those AS-400's that were showing up as surplus a few years ago. Without a really good programmer they become a little hidebound.

The article doesn't indicate the timeframes in which the infractions were incurred. While primarily irrelevant, I'm still curious...

*Major and blatant glee and gloating*
    WOO-HOO!

I always said they hated to PAY!
Congrats to the BSA on getting their "commissions" out of that place...and most likely some extra for punitive damages!

Me too. May the place (and its founders) rot the rest of the way soon!
