funny-tshirts / two different sites at SAS?
I saw some links on a friends site, and it ended up being very confusing, to say the least. I asked him which program he's signed up with, and this is the one

    http://www.shareasale.com/a-viewmerc...erchantID=8239

That's www.funny-tshirts.biz that's listed as the merchant site. BUT - the links on my buddy's site go to products on this site (and he says that the clicks do track):

    www.funny-tshirts.com

Can merchants do that at SAS, sign up with one domain as the merchant site but have their affiliate links lead to another site?

Very peculiar, but it was that second site (the .com) I was looking at and pondering about when doing this post:

...or *are* actually an affiliate site with maybe a white label deal for drop-shipping, and also have the site full of their own SAS affiliate links to "other" merchants. Nice way to pull in traffic from other affiliates and either sell some by drop-shipping, or send the free traffic off through their own links carrying their ID.

Oh yeah, also they can sell banner ad space for a healthy flat fee per month, which gives the advertiser a nice backlink for the engines - and they can offer a lot of impressions because they're pulling in traffic from unsuspecting affiliates who didn't bother to look around the site.

Add in some Adsense and they've got a sweet deal going for themselves, don't they?. Look at the site and do the math.

Some are accidental, like if they closed down and just left it sitting, others are very deliberately planned and have a lucrative business plan to boot.
Oh my, the plot seems to be thickening. When you go to this page on the SAS merchant's site

    http://www.funny-tshirts.biz/store/c...ome.php?cat=62

If you scroll down you'll see a fly-out menu called "Sponsors" that seems to list the other sites that are linked to from all over this one, but there's one extra one of their sponsors listed that looks to be very interesting. It's entitled "Super Affiliate Marketing" and the link goes to this site:

Well gee, it's all right out there in public on the t-shirt merchant's site for all to see, and this last one looks like it will make a very interesting read.

Is this a whole new twist on how CPA networks are affiliates, but now taken to a new level, gaming affililiates through a network?

Many thanks to Billy Kay for the brain burst.
