What are you talking about? I haven't seen any pops. Is it coming from one of the ads or all of them?

None here either...and the last time this came up, it was scumware on the users computer, and not something on ABW.

Ok it may be me. BUT: I cleaned my system pretty well. Including all index.dat files, removed all non essential .js files, tmp files, and watch for current changes in my system logs. Also, Ran the latest version of As-aware (5.7) etc.- etc.

I then surfed over 10 of my favorite sites.
The pops only happen at ABW.

Any help appreciated.

Here's the sites that are poping ads when I change pages at ABW.

smartpops.com
netbroadcaster.com
internetfuel.com

$$$$$,

There aren't ANY pop ups on ABW and I have nothing to be "ashamed" of! FYI - The csbanner is only banner rotator script.

No pops here either, but I DID see on the advertising page "POP UP TRAFFIC for only $ 100!"

Nothing here either.

Looks like $$$$$ your just over reacting and chances are it was from another site you did visit before hand or you do have some adware somewhere in your system.

Btw, if Haiko did use popups why should he be ashamed? I know not everyone has a like for popups but it his his site and he is fully in his rights to use whatever advertising methods he deems fit (although I suspect he would never use popups here).

<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR>do have some adware somewhere in your system<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

Happened to me once, When ever I used to start IE.5.5, It displayed an annoying casino popup!

I had to format my hard disk in order to get rid of it.

$$$$$, That can be the problem.

Huh???? Pop-ups are not immoral, illegal or personally degrading.

Where did you get such a judgmental attitude? If he were using them and you don't like it, you don't need to come here. It is HIS site and if that is what he wants, where's the skin off your nose? Just close the suckers and don't be foolish.

$$$$$,

just looked it up at WHOIS and this site does belong to Haiko, bought and paid for by Haiko. Checked the laws out and at this point Pops are not illegal.

I don't like pops and will not go back to a site that has multi-pops... maybe that is what you should do.

I'll second the motion to suggest downloading Ad Aware or something similar.

You can find all the scumware that finds its way into your computer as long as you resign yourself to doing nothing else.

No pops here either.

If Ad-Aware didn't work, maybe the problem is a newer piece of adware that Ad-Aware hasn't coded against yet.

Haiko should be using popups, one popup from fastclick per user per day would be some serious jack for abestweb, especially since he's paying for the 5000 hits an hour or whatever it is.

Never seen a popup here. Hate the things, I automatically close 'em by reflex.

Popunders are a much better way to go.. X10 has sold a lot of stuff that way, but my favorite is a straight text link

And yeah, sounds like you have scumware so check your AdAware version and signature date.

Today I was surfing the Affiliate Programs forum and remember seeing a pop-up...

Haiko, I'll send you a pm.

I'm thinking that turning off html was good idea now.

Even if Haiko wanted to use popups I see nothing wrong with it. It's free to come in here and the man has to make money somewhere. Still, he said there are not any anyway.

Popups are a great tool to increase a site's productivity.

Look in Add/Remove programs for something called "Network Essentials". Remove that.
Then, assuming you're using IE, it might help to get the latest security patches.
