Offline Merchant Question - A Different One/Remove This Merchant From The Network
I was looking for merchants like the one I linked to below and noticed they don't exist anymore. So I sorted the merchant list (2000+) and sorted them by EPC. I noticed over half of them have a $0 EPC for both 7 Day and 30 Day. But I could stilll apply and was accepted, noticing the last compliance test was March 2005:

Going thru the list and you have more like that. Unlike the temp offline merchants, these are listed as online.

You can go ahead and remove this merchant from the network. Was just looking for cookie merchants and this one is still listed. Still listed as being online even tho the merchant doesn't even exist and it's been over a year and a half since a sale came thru -
Last Commissionable Transaction through Affiliate: 03/13/2005 12:24.40 PM

Just assign somebody to go thru them and get rid of them.

nypm.net - just started leafing through the first category at random, Accessories. There's a TON of 'em like that all over the place.

nypm.net - that one at least still exists even tho they haven't had a sale in almost 3 years. You would figure that would be a clue to them.

The other one you posted is just like the one I posted, doesn't exist:

    http://www.simplevalue.com

Still listed as online/low funds. Can remove that one too.

Yikes! Some house cleaning is in order. This just drives home the fact that you need to research a merchant before joining.

Well duh ... I've been sending them traffic with zero conversions ... no wonder. They happen to have a product I need and all other merchants with this product are infested. Guess it's time to go back to the infested CJ merchant and pray for the best.

What Travelin Man said, Yikes. I made the first post in this thread 3 months ago and they didn't exist then. Who knows how long they've been offline. But they still show as online and you can still apply and put up links. And there are more like that. Just don't understand why they haven't been removed from the network yet.

Thanks all - we actually do have a project about half completed going to review all merchants and take a look at items just like the above... It is very time consuming, but necessary - what you pointed out above is very helpful and i've bumped those to the front of the list to be removed. I didn't find lookforus.com though?
    Thanks,

I know of a offline merchant also:

    http://www.ocroasters.com/

Go visit the website - its just an expired domain with the usual "directory" on it.

Ok, was just going thru my merchants:

I stopped at the A's (there are more A merchants, imagine if I went thru the alphabet), threw in a chicago nut but 3 and 4 years of no sales and "temp offline", time to pull the plug once and for all.

Howsabout FeelPretty.com? They still have uncorrected 10-cent "markers" dating back to 2003.

We made a mistake and started building out a site based on the large number of potential merchants in a particular category. My bad though. We didn't look at enough to determine if there were enough GOOD candidates to justify the site. As we started populating our site we realized most of the merchants in this category have no current results. Again, my bad. But there should be some period of time after which inactivity forces the merchant into a special area for underperforming or no current activity merchants.
I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die
to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there
isn't and die to find out there is.

Just remove them. I don't think they'll be too upset since they haven't had sales in 3 or 4 years and are offline. I haven't checked those out in awhile but was trying to find a merchant, forgot the name and then just hit Get a Link/Banner and they're all right there. And you can still go in and grab links and put them on your site. Don't understand that either. And the compliance test is another thing. They're passing them.

    Trust,

All those merchants are offline... you can just click the "Quit" button and they won't show up in your list anymore.

Will there be any serious ramifications that the affiliate might experience at a later time if the affiliate hits the "Quit button" on such a merchant now?

If the program gets back online and the affiliate would like to join the program again (at a later date), will the affiliate be able to (join the program again) without any hard feelings?

    Same question a R7

I quit 3 programs the other day that are actually gone - InvitationBox, QuoteProducts, and one I can't remember

If a merchant formally leaves today - I don't quit them because I think I loose the 30 day cookie (or whatever) as soon as I click "Quit" - but if I just remove links and don't quit, I still get the cookie sales.
