My first bucks came from ebay. There was this one page site, on a free host, on a certain topic that a gf at the time was interested in. She used to visit it everyday. She told me it wasn't updated in a long time. I noticed it was something you could only buy on ebay and if they had an affiliate link, they could be making some money. So I emailed them. They said they were too busy with school and didn't care about the site and said I could have it and gave me the login info. I put up a link to ebay. I made $1200 the first month and that was when ebay was at $4 a shot. That lasted a few months, it was all free SE traffic.

My first buck was when my sister bought something through my site.

I took me like 4 months for a stranger to buy something.

With no free SE traffic, i need to try some PPC stuff to get anything substantial I think.

I made my first buck putting links up on a site I wanted to sell over four years ago. Now it is my top performing site year after year.

I got very easily discouraged at first - seeing no results for my hard work.

But now I'm beginning to see something and it looks like this works!

keeping a posetive attitude helps a lot in the process.

Well I am on month 4 now. My first sale was only a commission for 73 cents (someone signed up for ebay via my site I have no idea who. Since then I have made a few test sales that I have gotten commisions on I have been able to get some decent adsense revenue (I made enough in these four months to pay my hosting for the next 2 years.) and I have gotten some activation bonuses. (thanx Geno) So I am going to keep the sites going I have already set them up to be money makers even if I do nothing else. HOWEVER I made my site as a Seriously messed up hodgepodge of ideas because I wanted to see what worked and what didn't work. So Now the Really Good news. One small section of my site apears to be generating REAL interest I have about 20 percent of my google hits and random visits going to one section I have been getting decent click thrus and this month actually Got two commisions each over 11 dollars (the same merchant) so I am now concentrating on making the rest of my site similar to this section I hope to have better results (BTW this section is also thanx to an Affiliate Manager and his help)

The Moral ... Don't quit... read lotsa stuff on ABW ...Don't quit... Listen to the Affiliate Managers if you are newbie (Like me) and oh yeah Don't quit.

I made my first buck on a Geocities site where I created a cajun character to present a recipe for crabmeat au gratin and solicited the reader to mail me $1 and a postage paid envelope and I would send them 10 more recipes.
It worked and I continued to get dollars from that page until Yahoo did away with the neighborhood page structure that Geocities used.

First real affiliate dollar was through my writing blog - that's all it took to spark me into action. I think that very next month I pulled in about 300 dollars in profit...and it's been increasing greatly since.

Without that one incidental sale, I might never have learned how much I love doing this kind of work!

Made my first affiliate almost by accident. I had signed up for the cafepress affiliate program because i'm a merchant there. I made my first affiliate sales from folks who visited my cafepress store, didn't buy but went on to buy from another on the site. Now I hooked on affiliate marketing, getting sales on purpose and eager to learn more about the industry.

I was trying all kinds of stuff on PPC. First sale was a CB ebook. I never got another one...and didn't make any profit.

My first sale was literally my 4th day in Aff Marketing. I built a crappy Drupal site, but up some links to bonsai trees, and fired up some Adwords.

Total Investment: $9.99 in web hosting (I don't do THAT anymore)
    $4.26 in Adwords (I remember exactly )

    Total Revenue: $99.00 even.

Boy. Did I think this was gonna be easy

I earned my first affiliate buck (or $150, to be exact) by referring a merchant to sign up for an affiliate program at ShareASale...

I wish I could remember! It would be a nice memory....I'm thinking it was through CJ on my first site, which is still going strong.
