I don't know who wrote this but it is so true

"I was signing the receipt for my credit card purchase when the clerk noticed that I had never signed my name on the back of the credit card. She informed me that she could not complete the transaction unless the card was signed. When I asked why, she explained that it was necessary to compare the signature on the credit card with the signature I just signed on the receipt. So I signed the credit card in front of her. She carefully compared that signature to the one I signed on the receipt. As luck would have it, they matched."

    Doesn't Matter, I believe it.

I've seen comparable stupidity from security people in my travels...

The problem is that security positions traditionally pay very low wages, are VERY boring and, consequently, attract (pardon me) losers and idiots. That means that security companies MUST DEMAND these people follow strict security guidelines which are written in their 'Security Manual'.

WHY? Because the security companies can't trust their own guards!

The 'Security Manual' is just a CYA in case something goes really wrong.

These are the people gaurding your safety.

    Sleep Well.

Yep. 'Security' means many things, but in truth its mostly a state of mind.

Heyder, I've had the exact same thing happen to me. No Sheet! I just shook my head and laughed as I walked away with my purchase. <IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/ubb/icons/icon38.gif>

Been my experience they don;t care if the card is signed or not - when they bother to check, they ask for a DL so they can see another copy of the sig (not that they pay attention to it).

I worked the tshirt booth yesterday at the launching party for our new brigantines http://www.brigantines.com and I was tempted to do that to my customers, but good sense prevailed. I had to act like a grownup that day.
