    Web Hosting Account Suspened for Phishing
    I just got a notice that two domains on my shared server were suspended for phishing.

    Someone hacked my account and sent thousands of bank of american and paypal scams.

    I think it is fair that I am upset that they shutdown my domains which holds affiliate links, and now I am losing income -- They should investigate first, and if I am guilty, which I am obviously not, then shut me down.

    What a damn hassle!

    Melty,

    did they mention where it was hacked? Was it through php (mime or the like) or straight through the login?

    I had this happen to me a few months back. Luckily I have a close relationship with my server management company that they knew clearly it was not me, but they did take the site offline until we could repair it.

    Melty,

    Have you checked your puter for a key logger or the like?

    Have you asked the hosting company for ip info on the ftp session (if possible)?

    Is there anyone that you work with that has access to the login passwords? (and I'm guessing any control panel be it cpanel or others would have like issues)

    I'm asking these ?s as I use cpanel too ;-}

    My new laptop is pretty locked down and I don't see any signs of a key logger...

    The hosting company showed me some logs...A bunch of IPs outta Egypt and Israel but could all be proxy...Who knows...

    Nobody has access to my passwords that I know of *shrug*

    But i will admit I could have stronger passwords...
