    Checks vs. Direct Deposit
    I earn steady checks with Linkshare (the checks are not for huge sums of money, but they are steady -- usually).

    I look forward to getting (Linkshare) checks in the mail

    I just read this thread and now I am wondering when should a publisher/affiliate of Linkshare request Direct Deposit?

    Would someone please summarize the benefits vs. the disadvantages of signing up for Direct Deposit?

    I thought that receiving a check in the mail was preferable to setting up a direct deposit arrangement with any affiliate marketing company but now I am having second thoughts.

    Thank you in advance for a summary and any advice you can offer.

    DD = no lost checks.
    DD = no delayed checks
    DD = quicker payment (usually)
    DD = No bounced checks

    Thank you, Nakedgamer.
    Are there any disadvantages?

    Should the affiliate/publisher wait until a certain amount of earnings have been made on a steady basis to request direct deposit?
    I guess I always felt squeamish about giving all my banking information.

    Nope, I see few if any drawbacks.

    Just because you give someone your DD information doesn't mean they can drain your bank account and do anything they want.

    As long as the network doesn't charge for DD (most do not) then there really isn't any reason to worry. You can also dispute any ACH/DD withdrawals as well just like any charge to your credit card if there is any problems.

    IMHO.

    I use DD whenever possible, it's wonderful. Saves a lot of time going to the bank to deposit checks.
