    Actually, Haiko, I am surprised that this thread has been on the board for an hour and it is not a flamer! I am sure this will be a popular topic

    Ok, I'll start out with some general thoughts to get the flame going....

    I will put the CJ links that don't work on my sheet list. Who is writing the garbage that I have to correct? Don't they check the links before they publish them? I find misplaced <'s all the time which really messes up the link.

    All Linkshare Links go on the sheet list because of the way LinkShare presents them. Click on a banner category or a text category and go through endless lists to find something that will work...

    All Performics Links go on the sheet list because Performics has no idea what it takes to market a product. Performics links are pretty much only banners. I prefer textual links for my site.

    BeFree Links are on my sheet list just because they are with BeFree.

    Flowers 101flowers; no matter how far down the page....converts best.

    Amazon: has everything under the sun.
    Giga Golf Only $10 minimum.
    Vision Direct: Life time customers
    Blue Fly: Great Designers, Having fun.
    That's off hand with out thinking about it.

    I choose merchants: On Other's opinion.
    Conversion, Product, navigation, popularity.

    I always thought Amazon, would be hard to make money from, because it's been around for ever, but it's a brand name people trust.
    Basically trial and error.

    Hmmmmm!!! Where to start?

    BodyJewelry sucks! - Either no sales or the sales are reversed for invalid credit card. I have emailed them several time with no respond.

    Shoes Avenue SUCKS!!! - I should blame myself for the fact that I keep giving them a chance and they keep reversing every sale I have ever had. They are the only program I know of that carries the designer shoes that my visitors want.

    Zappos - I never can seem to get a sale to stick. All the other shoe places don't reverse anywheres near as much as zappos.

    All the Plus size merchants at CJ's with the exception of Junonia's. I have tried seceral times to get the merchants to convert and they never do. It's just strange how I can have a 5% or better conversion at Performics and hardly anything with CJ merchants.

    CJ - just for their lack in believing affiliates when they something is wrong. To me there is no excuse for tracking problems to go on un-noticed for days or weeks at a time. Some day they may wake up and smell the coffee. Hopefully before it is too late for them. I guess I'll stop here for now and let everyone else list theirs. My list would be endless. <IMG src=>

    That's nothing to worry about gordon.
    It's simply routine that gets called when a user changed an option in the drop-down menus.
    This code simply changes pages based on what url is present in the form options.
    In SportChalet's case, it happens when you change the "Choose a Sport/Dep." menu

    Well I didn't realize it's the Bad affiliate List...I thought people wanted good.

    Ok...CJ-, Software First, Unbelievable Deals, Ralfties ( whatever)( for extremely high reversals)

    Any handbag company at Cj, SuperFabulous: Super Brands.( either high reversals or no convert- suspecting non tracking issues)

    I'm starting to hate Sports Authority, 700 clicks no sales.....*Maybe time to switch links [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif[/img]

    300 clicks no sales.... Not a good converter for me.

    Baby Universe: 1 Sale in 1000 click throughs

    And most merchants with product linking....never take out the out of stock ones, or the one's they remove.... :mad:

    Would you credit this, :mad: three or four hours earlier I wrote to (posting above) now I have just been credited with a bl**dy sale for the paltry amount of $1.75 commish. I would not mind but how the bl**dy h*ll can they credit me with a sale for something that is out of stock? :confused:

    Not sticking up for Them, but is it possible, that it was the link that the customer clicked on...then either did a search or just went to a page on the navigation system, and ordered something???

    I used to have several product links on my site at Christmas time....I took them all down, and then a week later, was still receiving commish from the links themselves, and for more or less money than the product itself.

    I think of product links like banners...perhaps I am wrong....

    Anyone else care to comment?

    You gotta love a merchant that keeps showing impression for you after you removed their links.

    Hmmm! I should tell them to turn off the automatic impression generator. They must have missed it.

    eBay rocks - don't forget to sign up for all four programs.

    Catalog City have a fantastic product range if they could keep the product links up and working reliably.'s equivalent EPC has slipped steadily since I joined to just over $1.00.

    HotJobs is the suckiest program ever.

    RafaelloTies (same as ShoesAvenue, BTW) -- too many reversals, the lamest for being out of stock.

    Serenity Health (they dumped me after I accused them of tracking issues since their non-cc forms do not track orders offline in any way shape or form). Luckily Amazon sells indoor fountains, and cheaper.

    Gevalia Coffee I still haven't replaced them, but they are costing me money by not paying for the monthly coffee deal sign up anymore.

    p.s. My EPC at Amazon keeps on rising. Of course, I don't market books [img]/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif[/img] .

    The ones on this list are from CJ, but that's only because 99% of my active merchants are from CJ. If I wrote a "good" list...those merchants would be from CJ, too!

    I'd have to put Collegiate Mall as the biggest still-active DUD I have at CJ.

    Music123's (CJ) next because they reverse 1/2 the stuff (not an exaggeration). And when I replaced them with MarsMusic (Performics) on a page with high visibility [and presumably a decent amount of targeted traffic]...Mars just hasn't reported any sales in the first place!!! But there is a big slow period for music stores in the spring/summer so I'll wait until fall before I cuss out Mars too much.

    I've got to give general [img]tongue.gif[/img] to the Plus Size Clothes category. It draws lots of dud clicks! But not too many sales.

    Lots of JEERS for BooksAMillion, for lowering to a 3% commission on such a cheapie item as books!!!!! They can count themselves responsible...for a newfound willingness on my part to put up Amazon links! I wouldn't normally have considered either place [too low commish!], but I have a couple of spots that just beg for a book link. As for the other stuff Amazon thanks for the most part because most merchants can beat Amazon's program in nonbook categories.

    Jeers for SeeYouAgainShortcut, because from what I read, Paul Burke is still King Spammer and his program still doesn't convert much. I took his links off over a year ago, but that program still lives so I'll still throw in my jeers toward it.

    That's about it for my dud list. Most of the other duds I've had are either dead or deactivated.

    Heyder, the impressions could be coming from the Google cache...

    This is my list of either no sales this year or no sales last year in rough order of the number of clicks sent to acxhieve the zero result.

    At the bottom of the list are the merchants closest to 100 clicks and no sales. Thats my cutoff point. Kinda. At 100 clicks the merchant gets an email, at 200 they get nuked.

    The outright winner by a long long way is that sports merchant who pretends to be lots of sports merchants. Not one sale ever - and as I didn't know what I was doing when I began - I thought this was my fault! It was thousands of hits they got and I'm too depressed to go count them. So starts the bidding at 500 clicks...

    The problem I see with such a sheet list is somebody might take it seriously and miss out on some good merchants -- I already see merchants on this list that convert well and regularly for me.

    I do not e-mail market nor promote any keywords buys for traffic yet I average 2800 page views a day.

    I'm more interested in getting ABW to put up a very accurate limited list of merchants who DO CONVERT TRAFFIC in shopping categories.
