Fright Catalog, Inc. & advertising tools
    The Merchant provided description includes:
[that they have] "Timely, creative banners, special offers & other advertising tools to allow you Pre-Sell and drive traffic to our site, thereby increasing conversion for YOU "

I saw some banners but I did not notice any specific product linking availability or inclusion in the make-a-page tool. Will Fright Catalog be offering feed (and the implied participation in the specific product and make-a-page tools?)
Is there a targeted time-frame for such inclusion?

I also noticed: Program Status: Low Funds (will that improve in the near future?)

Thank you for considering my questions and for any responses.

    What about specific products?

If Fright Catalog doesn't put out feed on "a timely basis" I'll use a couple of their banners but I'll emphasize the SAS merchants who provided the feed (and thus also enabled the specific product linking and the make-a-page tool) -- what could be a more important tool?

Anyway, thanks for your response & would be nice to see someone from SAS address the issue.

I don't know if this is ok with the merchant, but you could use a sitemap generator and sort out the product links. Maybe you should ask first.

I'm not sure what you are referring to.
I know what a sitemap is.

I think it is best to go along with the merchant's guidelines.
I won't "disobey" a merchant's TOS, but I'll campaign for what I want from the merchant

If the merchant is boasting about great advertising tools without supplying the feed, then the merchant's words are just puffery.

Want to boast about tools for affiliates? I have a good suggestion ...

I am interested in specific product images & I know that if a merchant supplies feed to SAS then the specific product images & the make-a-page tool would be enabled -- that's what I would like to see and therefore I believe feed would benefit all affilates/publishers.

The item number in the product url seems to be also in the image url:
    Product: http://www.frightcatalog.com/i/250/1503005.jpg
    Image: http://www.frightcatalog.com/Hallowe.../Ouch-1503005/

http://www.frightcatalog.com/i/250/ seems to be the source for their images. If it's ok with the merchant, you could put together a feed in excel using a few formulas. The categories, titles, and id are in the product url, but i'm not sure how you would get the descriptions. A feed from the merchant would be the easiest, but sometimes you have to find alternatives.

    Thanks for the suggestion, dpl882.

Maybe someone from either Fright Catalog and/or SAS (or a combo of the 2) will notice and provide the feed

You get a for following through and for providing an example that someone could follow if necessary and if allowed by the merchant.

Once Halloween sales kick in you can hardly keep up. Therefore, before I would put in all your hard work I would make sure they get on auto deposit. Offline is not pretty.

    Straight from the Source
    Hi Rhia:

Thanks for the feedback. We will be incorporating a product feed this week. We have signed up for auto deposit also.

I am always looking for feedback from affiliates, so if anyone has any other comments, questions or concerns, please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Great observation, porkchop

affkam/Kristina, thank you for noticing this thread and for paying attention to porkchop's important point

And thanks to ABW for giving me a space to create a thread where perhaps my observations can be of help to other affiliates too

Affiliates most likely have begun their Halloween pages and are dedicating some time on those pages now because the final stretch in terms of last minute details for Halloween is upon us.

Kristina, how come I don't see Fright Catalog availabe in the list of TOOLS :: DATAFEEDS AVAILABLE on SAS????

    Make-a-Page is down (in general)

If the products are not available to the affiliates/publishers "on demand" (i.e. when they are inspired to get specific products) the affiliates/publishers will go to a similar merchant on SAS but if luck runs short, the affiliates/publishers might turn to a different network.

I notice that Fright Catalog is available in the Specific Product Linking Code but the Product Link Information is appearing as broken

The regular links work but the pictures of the products don't.

The pics from the Make-a-Page queries are broken too

Disappointments such as these should not be happening at such a crucial time period for webmasters who want to promote Halloween items

Freak N Monster Creature Reacher Costume in time for Christmas
Anyone with a SAS Fright Catalog account take a look at this specific product:
Freak N Monster Creature Reacher Costume

The text link works but none of the picture links work.

Take heart, the Freak N Monster Creature Reacher Costume will look just lovely under a Christmas tree

If the product links for this costume don't won't by Christmas, perhaps the product links will work by Valentine's Day 2007
