I am a little new here. So what does five bars mean?

    Five Figure income?

At first I thought your Google PR was 5....

Ok, don't want to lead anyone on here - I was actually joking there... If I made 50k a month, I'd probably already be retired somewhere in Fiji...

The bar rating is how well you're doing compared to the rest of the network - 5-bar being the highest percentile.

I am afraid I will have to stick to multiple accounts and 4 bars.

NO, the bar I went to last night doesn't count!

Down to 4 bars... Oh well, shareasale works much better these days, and indies are really turning out to suprise me.

I'm a five bar baby too! Hurrah and good job cos my printer's just made a really bad 'pull the plug out of the wall now and run for the hills' burning smell so happily I can afford a new one, although I'd really rather spend the dosh on girly stuff.

I'm on five bars for about 10 months. Joined Affiliate Marketing 13 months ago. This month is much slower, but is no way near to drop to 4 bars.
    Anyway, congrats!

    Good job.
Now, don't forget to diversify. Once we're arrived at a certain level, we think we can duplicate our sucess just by adding more sites, more links or more merchants with the same network. It could be dangerous, it's always good to try new ways to market new products with new relationships.

Good advise Zeus. I signed up with LS, Performics, Amazon. So far only Amazon looks promising beside CJ. The good thing is that over all I made more money by diversifying.

That's great. I got a wake up call in July. We become lazy, easy money, too much fun playing golf and one day, your favorite network starts to act crazy. If you don't have a back up plan your wakening can be painful.

    Thanks guys.

Zeus - good advice on diversifying. I kinda do have too many eggs in too few baskets. I own this 5-bar push largely to eBay - their new commission structure and the performance bonus. Losing that would have a "Katrina" effect for my affiliate earnings.
    What would you suggest?
(Just an innocent attempt to milk some secrets out of mighty Zeus)

Kimberly, if you make some money, now, it means you have a steady traffic. Look at your logs for this past year and search for the keywords bringring you your money. I'm sure you'll find the most important ones. Now, you have a strategy to expand your reach. Build new sites around these keywords but do not use eBay, research indies or merchants on SAS and others. It's one way to deversify without taking too much risks. These keywords are your expertise. Bet on them.
