    AdSense CPA Beta Discontinued
I had been invited to participate in the Google AdSense CPA beta a couple of months ago. We didn't make a penny from it. Today, I received the following from Google:
Thanks for participating in the AdSense Cost-Per-Action test. We'd like
to announce that we're ending this phase of the beta. Therefore, please
take down any CPA ads that you are currently hosting as there won't be
    any further support.
So for those who considered Google's CPA test a threat to the affiliate networks, it appears that this wasn't a successful endeavor and has been abandoned by Google.

Is there more to the email?

"We'd like to announce that we're ending this phase of the beta."

That reads to me as they're ending "this phase" meaning there might be other phases or plans to move forward?

maybe the beta didn't workout the way they intended it to, doesn't mean they have dropped the plans entirely.

Here's the entire email with my name replaced with XXXX. I do read it as being discontinued; however, that doesn't necessarily mean they won't try it again at some point in the future.
    Dear XXXX,

Thanks for participating in the AdSense Cost-Per-Action test. We'd like
to announce that we're ending this phase of the beta. Therefore, please
take down any CPA ads that you are currently hosting as there won't be
    any further support.

If you'd like to provide us with suggestions or are interested in still
being a part of such tests moving forward, please reply to this email.
Feel free to respond with any other questions or concerns you may have.

Again thank you very much for being a part of this test.

    Sincerely,

    Christian
    The Google AdSense Team

Doesn't sound completely abolished. Will be interesting to see a more official stance, hopefully on the Google blog.

Also "ending this 'phase' of the beta" sounds like they're moving on to the next phase. Whatever that will be.

Sounds like it's dead for now, and the "such tests moving forward" would refer to betas of other things which may be technologically similar but not necessarily be a CPA program.

But, the other phrases leave them room to backpedal and try the CPA again if they decide to.
