I like that they call it an "upgrade", when in fact they are really putting back something they took away after the last upgrade.

It's been over 7 hours with no sales reported on my account. Something definitely wrong with CJ's reporting system. I don't know if it has anything to do with the scheduled downtime. Anybody else has the same problem or it just me?

Did they forget or something? It's supposed to already have happened and be in read only mode at this time.

Did they not do the upgrade perhaps? I had not been checking tonight and have no idea if it was up or down.

Nope, they haven't done anything, everything is still the same. Usually they're pretty good at starting upgrades at the time they announce them. Maybe overnight or something.

How badly messed up is it when the shut down button doesn't work?

Been away, now I'm back. Not as much, but I'm back & starting from scratch. Where I was, was fantastic. Where I am now, less so. Things have changed, become harder. So have I. Game ON!!!

I really was going to come in here and say something positive about their 30 minute upgrade, once it went okay. Hmmm, what should I say about this milisecond upgrade that nobody even noticed?

I understand, like the space shuttle launches, last minute glitches can foul things up. I'll give them credit if they held off because of that. Just hope the update us on the announcement section at CJ. I've been waiting for tomorrow so I can determine if I am moving more links to non CJ merchants or leaving things alone.

Edited to add: Just checked reporting and sales are even showing up for the scheduled downtime period. Either this was the best/fastest upgrade they have ever done or it just did not happen.

They may have gotten sidetracked looking for the key to the electrical box in the basement, so they can reset the circuit breaker for the BeFree server.

No word yet from CJ. Wonder what happened.

Hey, merchants, did CJ implement the Action Lifecycle yesterday? Can you log in and see a difference? I was wondering if something went wrong with that and perhaps that delayed the upgrade last night to change the JS link thing today.

So, that probably means that Action Lifecycle and LMI Phase 2 ("The Return of Legacy Links") has not been implemented, although they are not actually saying that.

Like I think I said above, I can appreciate it if they encountered a glitch and did not want to implement for fear of causing tracking problems, etc. I think we can just assume that is probably what occured so hard to give them much grief over that.

They had lots of time to figure out LMI Phase 1 before they implemented. I think now they are under the gun from upset merchants and affiliates as we enter the Christmas buying season and probably did not have time to test everything prior to changing the linking system.

All speculation, but probably not far from the truth.

I can't get some reporting to work at all (such as top 50 best performing links). Keeps giving me "this has been reported" type of message. They broke something. I tried this morning and this afternoon, still not working.

I think their tracking is "broken" as well. Things have been looking very suspect to me over the last 5 days. I've had sales but one particular merchant who converts extremely well for me hasn't shown one single sale since the 25th despite hundreds and hundreds of clickthroughs. I wish CJ would stop f***** around with stuff like "Action Lifestyle" and "LMI" and concentrate more on their reporting. It really pisses me off when they give us that BS about "tracking is never affected". Hell they can't even get their scheduled system maintenance off the ground. Sure makes one wonder what the heck is going on behind the scenes! Oh to be a fly on the wall.

Grumpy, sounds like it could be a merchant-specific problem. You should contact the merchant about it. In my experience, tracking/reporting problems are almost always the merchant's fault, not the network's.

Looks like they're going to give it another go:

Scheduled site downtime on Tuesday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time

Due to system upgrades, the CJ Account Manager™ will be unavailable starting September 5, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time, until approximately 8:00 p.m. Pacific Time.

Tracking and recording of transactions are fully functional when the site is unavailable. When the site returns your reports may be delayed for up to 24 hours. If there are any changes to this schedule we will post them to the site to keep you informed.
