ABW Jam night at Aff Summit Vegas?
I'd like to find out if we have enough interested musicians to put together a little ABW jam night when we get together for AS Las Vegas. I can get access to a facility and equipment.

I play guitar and sing. Other interested parties - it's time for a roll call!

    I hope you like Jammin
I am - well - um er - what many call a gifted vocalist. I also play drums, but much prefer the spotlight as a featured marquis singer. Count me in Joe!!

I play a mean air guitar and I like to hum a lot.

Okay, not much help, but count me in as a guest. Sounds like fun.

I'm in Joe. I play drums and, like Alan Hamilton, I too attempt to belt out a tune or two. Have your people contact my people

We'll need Littleton to hold us all together on the ivories. I heard he is union now and demands a champaigne suite with full security since his performances at the last Summit, so he is likely to be expensive. We'll all pitch in

    Sounds like fun!

Edited: You might talk to Shawn about this. He and Brian have talked about it. There was even some talk of an Aff vs. Merchants Battle of the Bands!!!! (that is sooooooooo 80's...I LOVE it!!)

I donated my drum set to a local high school band program last year, but when it comes to singing in Vegas, move over Wayne and Barry - there's a new voice in town!!

This is going to be fun. We just need a bassist and we're good to go. I have no problem learning a few tunes for you, Alan. What types of things do you like to sing?

I'd love to do some Stevie Wonder...I can hold down vocals on "Superstition."

I'd also be excited to play guitar whilst Unc does "Brick House" or "Play that Funky Music"

I would be happy to head the "Bad but Enthusiastic Singing" segment plus lead any general head banging / debauchery / general silliness that may ensue.

Sounds like you just nominated yourself to lead "YMCA." I'll bring you a construction worker outfit.

Good listeners are hard to come by Michael - and it's what we entertainers thrive on - so come on up and have a first row seat!!

I do a wide range from Willy Nelson "you were always on my mind" to Billy Joel Piano Man, Elton John, Sinatra, etc etc. Stevie Wonder is a bit high pitch for me unless my wife buys me smaller underwear!!

Can I be the band's manager?

I have major connections here in Nashville. I can totally see this group going to the top...of what I'm not sure though.

    nooooooo, not Nashville.... lol.....

Joe, you DID see the YMCA video from Orlando right? Michael and Angel both are great listeners and participators from a non-singing standpoint...

LOL at Billy and the groupies, you round em up and head em in and you can have em all! In Orlando the groupies were mostly.... male...

The tumbadora, also known as the conga drum, is made from a shell of elongated wood. The instrument is held between the knees of the musician or hung from the shoulders with a strong leather belt. The musician strikes the drum with the palms of his hands. To extract a short, muted sound the edge of the drum is struck with the left palm. To produce a deeper sound, the center of the drum is struck with the right hand. The tumbadora is essential to all Latin rhythms, particularly Afro-Cuban rhythms to which it adds a major rhythmic force approaching that of the double bass within an orchestra. This typically African instrument is an indispensable part of conga rhythms which is why the tumbadora is also known as the conga drum.

I'll be here all night folks
