    Arrow Important Affiliate Issues
What are they AND have they been discussed here "in depth" lately?

I'm looking around and there are good quality posters who have not come back here.

He got promoted awhile back, I'm sure he is very busy with the new job. He said the affiliate marketing activities he was doing, that he passed them on.

I think we could use an editor, with no agenda, that could offer daily TIPS like:

"what impact are cpa's having on AM"

I was looking at the ABW calendar (birthdays listed) and saw names of folks that used to be active posters here but have not been seen in months. Does make you wonder when you don't see them posting.

Like who? I just checked August and didn't see any active posters that haven't posted in awhile. And it is Summer time, some people have children, vacations etc. and when they're back in school have more time for work and such.

Adam, specifically what important issues do you think haven't been talked about in depth? Anybody can start a thread on any topic and get a discussion going.

If they haven't been posting they AREN'T going to show on the active poster list.
Anyone CAN start a thread. doesn't mean a discussion will happen...or that it will stay on topic.

    Let's try this:
"what impact are cpa's having on AM"
Anyone willing to posts that a have a discussion on THAT issue?

I was posting about what Ron said about the Birthday List. I looked at August and didn't see anybody.

"Anyone CAN start a thread. doesn't mean a discussion will happen...or that it will stay on topic."

And if a discussion doesn't happen, that's a clue people aren't interested in it. People discuss and participate in threads that interest them. And if it's an important topic that you don't want to get thrown off with nonsense, then opt for a moderated thread. We've had those before.

    "Let's try this:
"what impact are cpa's having on AM"
Anyone willing to posts that a have a discussion on THAT issue?"

If that interests you, then start a thread. And based on responses, you will be able to tell if that's of interest to others.

And a place to talk about issues. Apparently you feel some important issues aren't being brought up and talked about. Instead of complaining about it hoping someone else will bring them up, why don't you? I don't remember many threads started by you, most of your posts are a line or two and somtimes they're some obscure reference that only a few might get.

Start a thread on an issue you feel is important. Get the conversation going.

Okay, there were not as many as I thought, but some I have wondered about.

Nova - Have not seen her post since last December
Gordon - He's back but was gone for a month and not as active as usual
    ParentsWorld
And Bryan that used to be Backcountry - Still a ski bum or has anyone heard what he is up to.

Hope I'm not derailing the thread but we were talking about good posters that have gone missing.

Forums are what the members want them to be. You can't force people to be serious if they aren't in serious mode. I see a mix of both serious and "fun" threads. Part of the reason people like it here is they have a sense of community, which can have both fun components and serious ones.

As Trust pointed out, start discussions and see where they go... keep them on topic if they drift.

I think if it can be productive AND informative that a topic discussion starter or "editor" would be a great idea for ABW. There are a lot of good resources here but I think for many it would be nice to have threads where the discussion is more focused.

Ron, Poon (and Nova) has only posted once in the last year. I wouldn't call that an active poster. He used to be awhile back but that was awhile back. Not everybody that starts posting on message boards will post on those boards for the rest of their life. Could be lots of reasons why people stop. Some people have sadly passed away, some people aren't in this business anymore, some people just get tired of message boards, some people devote more time to working, maybe they found another board, maybe they're on vacation, maybe they're just taking a break, many reasons. I have a forum, same thing. Anybody that's had a forum for a few years will tell you the same. That's natural with any message board. You're going to have your regulars that stick around for years, some just post a few times and less never to be heard from again, some post every now and then and so on.

    Adam,

If there's something - or someone - I haven't publically complained about yet, let me know.

    Just kiddin...

Like Trust said... there ARE serious threads here, but we just post on the ones we can contribute to. I "follow" lots, but only post on some.

It's entirely possible that some things have no discussions started about them because many (or maybe most) people don't have a clue about them in the first place, maybe never even heard of them.

How then could any of those folks start a discussion?

re: Some "old timers" aren't posting anymore

But there are newcomers taking their place!!!

There's a bunch of people here with less than 100 posts who are inciteful, informative, and well worth reading

Hec! There's one who if I didn't know any better, I would swear was myself!

Agreed. There are some newcomers that are digging in quickly and adding value.

I don't post too much here anymore. I do read daily but I'm siding with Adam. Seemed like ABW use to have so many more topics that were at the heart of affiliate marketing. Many more serious threads about issues we face on a day to day basis. I think that there were many "falling outs" with a few members that were very good contributors here and even though they stirred the pot, valuable information was being tossed left and right.

Don't get me wrong, there is still some good stuff here

There are plenty of issues to discuss but I think that many smaller affiliates are too busy trying to keep above water because they were relying on free google rankings all this time and never planned on what would happen if that was to disapear like it did.
