There was a bomb found in a mail collection box about a 2 miles from here. Had a note on it referring to the M.E. situation. The Police fired a water cannon at it and it exploaded ... The Phila. Anti-terrorism Task Force is investigating.

Eagle,
We've had several 'copycats' around the Washington area since that crap with the smiley face bomber last week. In the cases it, most have turned out to be young kids that are doing it as a prank. Problem is, they aren't doing it with a look-a-like...they are mixing chemicals and putting them in soda bottles, so they are volatile and active.

No kidding Heyder...I remember a neighbor of mine had problems with mailbox baseball....He also had problems with them knocking over his trash cans in the middle of night. He packed his mailbox full of bricks (the kids parents tried to sue when somebody got hurt)...with the trashcans, he loaded a rubbermaid full of brick, gravel and sand (it was unmovable...told the trashmen to not even try). About 3 o'clock in the morning there was a loud crash. They would drive by and the passenger would open the door to knock the cans over...Next day, there was glass, mirror, trim, and a hubcap. My neighbor never had a problem ever again

I'm hoping that's all it is but there was a note attached "Free Palestine and Alquida". The kid that flew his plane into that building in Florida left a note to the same effect.

But the area where the bomb was found isn't more than 20 miles from Trenton - where the Anthrax was mailed - as I remember there was similar language on the note sent to the NY Post.

It could still be a copycat as there are loads of white supremacists in that neigborhood who would love nothing more than to start something between groups in the area. I don't want to see that either. I'm sure glad I left the Postal Service several years ago.

LOL! I don't blame him for doing that but your neighbor was lucky. There's a lot of stories about homeowners setting traps for vandals and burglars only to end up being sued. There was a much publicised case about 20 years ago where a burglar was shot in the arm while trying to enter someone's home. The burglar successfully sued the homeowner. Apparently the homeowner was expected to put a warning on up that the place was booby-trapped (LOL!).

Somebody tried to sue over the mailbox thing, however, there is nothing illegal about putting bricks, etc in a trash can. I think he said he was going to throw them out and they were awaiting to be picked up. Covered his ass, but I don't think anybody came forward when the car was damaged...I recall hearing a similar story as you about an intruder getting shot. I'm not out to kill anybody, but someone once told me, as long as they are in your house, and facing you when you shoot them (and kill them), there is only 1 witness to tell a story, and dead people don't sue. Not my bag of tea, but the guy that told me that was definately armed to the hilt, and I know I'd never want to be on the receiving end.

About your neighbor - It is against Postal Regs to place anything but mail in a mail box ... however I don't see where the Inspection Service would be in a hurry to prosecute someone with a vandalism problem...technically it is also their responsibility to find the vandals and prosecute *them*. If they had wanted to, they could have made a case that a carrier could just as easily have been the one injured .. so it could have been worse than just a lawsuit. LOL although I *still* don't blame the guy.

The case I am thinking about was a guy who had rigged something up in his house that would automatically shoot an intruder. He didn't shoot the burglar himself.

Now that I think about it, what if there had been an emergency and rescue or fire personnel had to enter a home and gotten shot? So they had a point ... even tho the burglar had no business being there in the first place

That is a different case. The one I had heard was the intruder was climbing out the window with a TV in his hands...the homeowner came out with a gun...intruder drops the TV and runs like hell...The homeowner shot him once in the arm. The guy sued and one, and the homeowner was charged with a crime. Obviously his life wasn't in danger if the guy was running away.

We just had a similar case here where a guy was convicted. In this case it was a drunken neighbor. He stepped outside to take a leak and went back to the wrong patio door. The guy had apparently just moved to the neighborhood so the shooter didn't recognize him. All he knew was that there was a 6'4" wild naked guy at his door. He shot and killed him, but it was after he turned to run away.

The big case of booby trapping a house to twart burgulars was in Lousiana. Some guy had enough after having 40 breakins to his back porch where he had a extra Refrig ( beer mostly) and a lift top freezer ( frozen meats). He posted some lame signs saying something like "keep out or else?" and rigged up a sawedoff 12 gauge shotgun to the locked back porch door. The blast about cut the perp in two. He got something like 20 years regardless of the sign...and someone else got the beer.

My concern is that the Muslims in the USA will take the suicide bombing serious and start on our Malls, parade routes on the 4th of July and Pizza parlors to disrupt and terrorize our economy and safety. Not one single country with Muslim communities has not been a target for their hatred of all Infidels. Saw some very frightening commentary on MSNBC news yesterday that the militants have called their followers in the US to do just that.

I think the US stand against the Palestine attacks might help the Islamic community recognize us in a new light. Then again they're so hellbent I don't know.

Mike - while it is possible that the people that planted the bomb were Muslims, it's just as likely that it was white supremacists. They would like nothing more than to start a war here between all ethinic groups that they don't deem as "pure" in order to further their own agendas. That means committing crimes against whites and making it look like it was done by African Americans as well as acts of terrorism against Jews and Amer-European Christians and pretending to claim credit on the behalf of Muslims and Christian Arabs. It is part of their doctrine to create in-fighting among non-Anglo Americans.

Don't think for one moment that the Anthrax attacks were anything other than domestic terrorism even tho the notes to the Post said "Death to Israel".

And as in Washington DC areas, they were kids doing copycats. Nothing to do with a political agenda,or anything to do with the Middle East. They just thought it was funny to put gasoline and other chemicals into a soda bottle and put them in mailboxes...all this while (and shortly after) the FBI was looking for the guy in the Mid-West.

The area of Philadelphia where the bomb was found has had rather high concentration of folks with Supremist sympathies; that's why I am thinking on those lines. There is also a large Jewish population in the area and they have always been the primary target of the Supremists. Otherwise I would think it was a copycat. Another factor is that this was a bona fide bomb - when the cops shot the water cannon at it there was shrapnel and mail in a 100 foot area. If I were that mail carrier I think I'd been taking off time for "stress leave". He/she was very lucky.

Wanted Suicide Bomber Candidates.

Free all expense paid tickets to Paradise.
Call Sadam at 555-1212.

Now you should get a whole lot of takers if you advertise in the right places.

You just round them all up, take them to your training base and treat them real nice for a day or two.

Then you have a big meeting to discuss the
training and you inform all the candidates that due to budget constraints the suicide bombing part of the program has been cancelled but in keeping with your promise to send you to Paradise, you simply kill them all right there.

Then you tell the news media about a story you heard about how a 'dirty tricks' squad eliminating potential suicide bombers.

Just think of what you can do with a little imagination and a WW II Gestapo 'Dirty Tricks' Handbook.

In fact you probably wouldn't even have to kill them - just plant rumors you did in the press.

So much for today's lesson on how to diminish the threat of suicide bombing.

The White supremists and cultists like Charles Manson are the first law enforcement suspects when this occurs on our shores...not the muslims. The press jumps on anything terrorist related like merchants jump on FREE traffic offers. Bill Gates gets his monies worth out of cable channel MSNBC as far as unbiased reporting goes during live unrehearsed interviews with both sides. Viewer decides who's telling the truth.

Now Fred might make lite of the suicide bomber threats within our own borders but he has cause for great concern if he regularily goes to casinos. A friend within security admin at a local Detroit Casino ( I did 5 real casino web sites for clients) gets non public alerts from the FBI about planned suicide attacks on Casino properties in Atlantic City -Detroit ( Dearborn MI. has 64% Arab American residents) Vegas and Tahoe. The news media seems to be barred from devulging the Casino threats but they do pose a real danger. 2-3 bombs or Homicide bombers there and all those slot machines cease to get pulled.

Good point Mike.

As for Fred - I wouldn't worry. I think he's missed his calling. He could be America's greatest weapon against terrorism; domestic and international. Put him into deep cover, let him infiltrate and make his pitches.

It wouldn't be long before he'd have them so confused that they wouldn't know who or what they were for or against. Pretty soon they would have all their money in MLMs and no money to fund their activities.

In many cases, people are quick to blame Muslims...look at the OK City Bombing...What's funny is while this thread was growing, here in Annapolis, authorities are working on a 'bomb' incident and everybody freaked out because it was within 1 mile of the U.S. Naval Academy. Turns out a work crew digging on the side of the road dug up some type of old ordinance, possibly a grenade.

Hey Fred...you should get them to sign up in your downline before you finish them off

I remember. It was the same with flight TWA 800. BTW I was born in Montoursville - where all those kids were from that were on the flight.

Here, people don't get as excited about grenades and old war memorabilia. After all, this is the city where the mayor and Police dept get away with dropping a satchel bomb on a row house and burning down a whole neighborhood as a result.

No wonder the world makes fun of Philadelphia.

Humor in alot of cases in simply an exaggeration of reality.

There security people here are big time worried about what Mike points out, especially after the Biker incident in
Laughlin.

However, if they get me, I will comback and haunt them with dreams about Amway.

Seriously, we are looking at pretty close to the same situations that existed from about 1935 to 1940.

The real serious question is can the dummies we have elected deal with the situation without bringing about at least a regional hot war conflict. And if it does go HOT, which side will China be on - because that's going to be the winning side.

As for our side - we have Rumsfeld and Powell on the plus side and Ashcroft the Nazi and Rice the Ignorant Fool on the minus side. And of course the dumber than rock salt GW and a congress with an imaginary number for an IQ to make the decisions.

Interesting times for sure.

I think GWB is just a simple man with convictions and a desire to rid the World of Terrorism on his watch. Does He want to be Emperior of the World..maybe. Does he ask other World leaders for opinions & options..yes. Does he ask for their permission to go in and cut the heads off the terrorist snakes ...hell no. He lets the liberal press lull the enemy ( very easy to spot just read the daily world terror report) to sleep with crys of outrage on human right violations, Israel war crimes and phoney massacres, EU and UN airhead non enforceable dictates, as he goes about the dirty tasks of taking out terrorist nests.

When we leave that area there will be a nucular cloud drifting over Pakistan and India and we end up paying jewish prices at the pumps. The Brits, Australians and Russians will just go along for the ride next to GWB's war horse, since they too see the danger of letting the terrorists dictate the peace terms. We harden our collition forces in a War on Iraq ( Israel becoming a local war dog) and launch bombers & Jets from bases in Saudi Arabia, Quatar, Israel and Kwaitt. No need to ask them permission ..whose to stop us... the bad publicity and liberal press or the Saudi Kwaitti Army?? Lop off Saddams head and turn that country over to who ever wants to run it. If the Saudi's attack us then we pick off the 6000 gold Rolls Royces, converted to combat vehicles, and bomb their missle city ( Yep they have Chinese/N Korean 2500 mile range missles with questionable warheads in silos) and let their mass of Wahabi Islamic slaves kill off the rest of the royal dictators.

The only viable Muslim force will scream Jehad in Pakistan and Kishmir and attack their arch enemy India. Iran and Turkey just watch in awe and duck out of the way when someone somewhere presses the "Nuke Now" button in Pakistan. Only possible target is India.

We exit the scene ..seal our borders and try to handle the bad press for the next 50 years. Meanwhile the world has relative peace and GWB gets to be an Emperior like the Caesars for a while til retiring to his ranch. Muslims quiet down since they only respect a superior enemy force and let the Jews organize pumping/selling Oil to put food on their collective tables. Cycle starts over in 50 years in the ME but most Israelis now live in Cuba since it's close to relatives in Miami.

Maybe I'm a skeptic but after reading news from all viewpoints for 6 months ( see: http://www.newshub.com )the above prediction becomes real scary...

Posted 5 minutes ago
"Pakistan has condemned the killing of civilians in an attack by militants in Indian-administered Kashmir which left at least 30 people dead, including women and children and the three attackers themselves.
A government statement did not condemn the actual attack on the army camp at Kaluchak, about 10 kilometres (six miles) south of the winter capital Jammu, but called for an impartial investigation.

They had AK 47s, they were firing all around, they had hand grenades, they had explosives.

Major General Mohan Pandey

The attack is the bloodiest since nearly 40 people died in a raid on the state assembly in the summer capital Srinagar last October.

The Indian Government has suggested it was timed to coincide with the arrival of a US peace envoy in Delhi and a police official said he believed the militants were Pakistanis.

"This is not a coincidence that the incident has occurred at a time when a senior US State Department official is visiting our country," the minister told parliament.

There were children among the dead

US Assistant Secretary of State Christina Rocca, whose visit is aimed at cooling tensions between India and Pakistan over Kashmir, condemned the violence as "barbaric terrorism".

Ms Rocca, who intends travelling on to Pakistan, added that the US-led international war on terrorism aimed to stop such attacks.

Indian officials said she would be shown evidence that Pakistan is backing militant activity.

The Pakistani Government issued a statement to "strongly condemn the death of a number of civilians in an armed attack near Jammu".

It also pointed to the visit by Ms Rocca, saying that attacks in Kashmir tended to "coincide with high-level visits to the region".

Gun battle

The three attackers, who were wearing army uniforms, arrived by bus at the Kaluchak camp early on Tuesday morning.

Officials said they opened fire indiscriminately with assault rifles and threw grenades, killing seven other bus passengers before storming the camp gate and attacking an area of the camp housing family quarters, workshops and canteens.

The attackers were eventually cornered and killed during a gun battle with soldiers and police that lasted more than two hours.

The BBC's Binoo Joshi, reporting from Jammu, says it is the first time that an army camp so close to Jammu has been targeted in such a fashion, although there have been a series of similar attacks on camps in other districts.

No organisation has admitted carrying out the attack, but Indian officials suspect Pakistan-based groups such as Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad.

A police spokesman, Subash Raina, told Reuters news agency that all three attackers were believed to be Pakistanis.

Tensions

A senior US defence department official in Washington told reporters on Monday there was a "large risk" of war.

"The governments of India and Pakistan have an enormous interest in bringing tensions down and the risks of war down", said Defence Undersecretary Douglas Feith.

Rocca is to press US concerns about Kashmir tensions

Both countries still have huge numbers of troops massed along their common border.

They have fought two of their three wars over Kashmir since independence from Britain in 1947.

There are reports, denied by Indian authorities, that India has put its troops on a heightened state of alert along the disputed line of control in Kashmir and along the border between India and Pakistan."

Read what you want but their are forces involved in this that go to sleep each night praying to Allah for your slow death...not good health.
