These Americans have funny holidays you see. I work for a US company in the UK and we always tend to forget that head office is shut for things like Thanksgiving, Independence Day etc.

Thank God for funny holidays! If it wasn't for that I would be typing this from work right now... I am even taking the day off of affiliate marketing other than checking stats and readig abw posts. Now if I could only get them to turn off this telethon on TV. Just kidding, it's for a good cause even though it is boring.

May everyone have a safe and happy Labor Day weekend!

True, we have quite a few of them - you forgot Presidents' Day BTW - all in all there are 14 holidays although only government workers get all 14 of them off. Unfortunately we don't get as large an allotment of vacation - I've been told that some countries get 4 to 5 weeks standard.

France is such a country. 5 to 6 weeks vacation are standard, then on top of that you can have 1 to 2 weeks seniority + 1 to 2 weeks if you hold an executive position then they work only 35 hours a week. You can even get penalized if you work more, tt's not allowed. Best is to get best of both world.

Sales were really low this weekend, undoubtably because of the holiday. I'm anxious for this week though to see how things go.
