He WAS deactivated.

But I noticed that he has disappeared from my "deactivated" list...I don't know if CJ just realized that I dropped HIM over a year ago--or if he's back in the network.

I hope he's not reactivated. The "deactivated" next to that SYAS name was so nice...

ceo,

P. Burke/SeeYouAgainShortcut spammed the daylights out of anyone who signed up as his affiliate.

So if you did not sign up, you wouldn't have gotten any spams (about 15 spams/week, sometimes more).

If you DID sign up for his program, and still did not get spams--count yourself lucky--he must have overlooked you. I'm sure sending spams to other countries wouldn't bother him one bit!

And might I add if you changed your mail settings...he still mailed you. If you dropped his program...he STILL mailed you.

Man, I was/am SOOO sick of that guy!

In this case, I'd think "arrested development" might be more fitting.

Someone posted on CJU that his response to their demand to be removed from the SpamLists was that:

When he worked in an office his boss would send him 20-40 emails a week and that he HAD to read them.......and now that he (Paul) had his own program, he was going to send all the email he wanted to!!!

I forgot the exact words, but it came across just like it would from a little kid who suddenly gets to play "grown-up Boss Man".

The gist of it was "I've got a pwogwam of my own now and I can do whatever I want wit' it! So there! "

Of course, he didn't use those words (he TRIED to sound like an adult, ha ha) but IMMATURITY was clearly conveyed anyway. Along with the message that the spam would keep coming.

TG for Autotrash...

Well yes Leader, I was NOT his affiliate at CJ.
I however, recently signed up for his program, and you got it right, I've recd. atleast 5 emails or more from that guy in 10-15 days....

Doesn't he LOVE email ? ; )

PS : I would like to know from all of you, how successful was his program for your site.
What kind of income//conversions did you make from it ?

Thanks !

IMO worse than PB's email spam was the SeeYouagain shortcut/virus itself. I get very pissed when some ones shortcut auto loads to my desktop, programs files and wherever else.

One word describes that program: DOG.

Heyder, I'm surprised enough people use that thing for you to have had many icons autoload

Anyway, if you think that's bad, you'd better not look at his WALLPAPER software! I just looked at his site--now there's a wallpaper software that "takes less than a minute to download, even at 56k". That ad comes up in a popunder...

Of course, the webmasters aren't "supposed to" autoload any of this stuff...

That's so funny Leader! I remember that theread all too well.

Too bad someone doesn't dirtect PB to the dead letter office.

You damn right he still sends the spam after you quit his program.

He is a total email spam-a-freak-a-thon

I wonder what would happen if we got a bunch of people to all together at the same time reply back. or is that illegal?

I don't know about being illegal. Here is something that I did tonight to another spammer. Over the past few weeks, I have been getting an e-mail from top-greetings.com. First it was 5 e-mails. Almost every e-mail says, 'Hey, automailer messed up again this weekend'. Anyhow, the next day, there were 15...then 50. I'm now up to about 100 per e-mail address at several e-mail addresses on one of my domains. All in all, getting between 300-500 everytime this guy decides to mail. I tried contacting the guy directly...none of his headers are forged, etc. There was no reply from him, so I contacted his host (nameservers show catalog.com). After a week of contacting them, I finally got a reply from a sales guy telling me to forward it to their abuse (which of course I was already doing). Got a reply from somebody in abuse asking for the headers. I had already done that several times, and did it again at their request. Their reply was they would look into. That was late last week. This weekend, got several more, so I contacted abuse again..no reply. Tonight, when I got my 500 e-mails, I set up a filter to send them to their abuse department, the sales guy, as well as the guy sending it. The filter is set up on 1 address, so they won't get all 500. Tonight, the guy mailed again, and the filter blasted out 100 e-mails to those guys. I hate to do that, but it was a simple request to the webmaster...no reply, and it was a simple request to his host. I wonder if catalog.com is the same folks from top-greetings.
I could filter their mail into my trash folder, however, I still have to wait for 500 e-mails to download. I could delete them from the server, and that takes time as well. I'm waiting for their host to suggest those things, or just hit delete...
If companies do things like this, it shouldn't be our place to fix it...if I break into your house, hey its your fault because I could gain access...I look at it in those terms. I imagine tommorrow morning, these guys will be pissed and see to it that I don't get any more mail. They could accuse me of spamming in return, but hey, their abuse department asked me to forward the e-mails to them which is what I did.

Hey Tom,
If that doesn't motivate them to get him fixed up then nothing will. I couldn't have done it better myself

Isn't Catalog.com the hosting leader and now spamming e-mail list services..
Dear eNotify customer, we regret to inform you that after nearly 4 years of service we will be discontinuing our eNotify services as of June 15, 2002.
Please take note that all email accounts, email messages, calendar events, etc., will be deleted and all pager, email, calendaring and monitoring services will be stopped on June 15.

You can get other email services from Catalog.com for as little as $35/yr. This includes your own domain name and free web hosting. Visit www.catalog.com for more details.

Guess who bought all the e-mail and privacy info??
