All,

I just got off the phone with Buyersport to confirm my findings ... they are clean!

When Morpheus 2.0 gets released (in a week or so) they expect to have a 95% penetration rate of existing users. That means that the existing BHO will be overwritten and NO AFFILIATE LINKS will be pilfered! Period!

This is a great example of David vs Goliath!

... the banding together of ad networks, merchants and affiliates to make this happen ... let this serve as official notice to any company who dares to think that they can steal our commissions!

Great job everyone<IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/ubb/icons/icon4.gif>

Where’s the anti-Gator script?

In reality, we need to simultaneously clean up after Morpheus. Any suggestions to help that?
I just hate leaving a job unfinished.

Sounds like there's a serious outbreak of site-stealing ... maybe that should come next.

Wayder,

Morpheus will be cleaned up in a week or so ... I know for a fact that Microsoft is testing their offering so that all the users computers don't crash ... once it passes it is out there full steam and 95% should download it.

Gator will not be a script ... it will be honor again.

Step by step, rung by rung!

Haiko,

Do you know anything about how they are planning to make money? Are they giving up on the buyersport? Is the new *browser* they are releasing gonna let users surf the way they want? Will Morpheus 2.0 take over the Desktop?

Somehow I don't feel right about this. It seems to me that the problem is much deeper than stealing affiliate links and that StreamCast got to make money out of their popular *illegally sharing mp3 files* software. I hope they charge users a monthly fee to get on the file sharing network they are running! Otherwise I am sure they are out to hurt us.

"Write a good software and give it away" is definately not a good business idea! Especially to Venture Capitalists (the white men!)

Great news for all ABW members and the sections we made for Morphbuster and parasiteware can stay up since they do remove older versions and hidden adwarez. Prominently display links to Ad-Aware so the Gators and ShopNows get scrubbed from your visitors machines.

The outright theft is gone (unless copycats appear) but we still face all the hijackers and interlopers that jump up in front of our referral shoppers with special offers. Those really do effect our conversion rates.

BluesX,

Yes, I know their model. They will not do away with the buyersport portion. Although I can not say all of it ... just think about a hybrid deal consisting of both CPM/CPA and CPC/CPA. Many merchants were getting over 300K imps a day.
Since they have some, as you call it (white man money), ... they'll probably do an IPO and rely on outdated software to bomb (?) with. Morpheus itself will charge for downloads at the rate of $8.00 an album as the mp3s will all be in "CintoA" (dies after 2 plays).

When you have that kind of reach ... there are many ways to make money ... even Fred (J/K) could!
