Not for the box but I could go for some Pizza. There is no Papa Johns near me at all. They just expanded into the city not to long ago.

One of my buddies on EBay sold an Orange ring ding box a few years ago for some crazy price. I will have to see if I can find out some info on it.

What I told you I caught Casper The Friendly Ghost inside my Papa Johns pizza box?

That cup just went up another $50.

I feel like I'm missing out on taking advantage of crazy people. Must come up with something.

On occasion I sell some weird stuff on EBay. A few years back when the Yankees got Matsui from Japan he hit a homerun on opening day. The next day he was on the back page of all three ny newspapers. I sold about 10 auctions of the three newspapers bundled for about $100 each. The shipping was a pain as I hate international shipping and I recall it was a lot of money maybe about $40 US. The papers cost me about $15 and I made around a grand really quick.

I find that if you have an idea to just do it for the hell of it

It's a trick by eBay, folks!
If you check out the seller's "About Me" page on eBay, you'll realize that this is a "sham" -- there is no legitimate auction going on, just marketing efforts to publicize eBay. That "About Me" page actually links to a special sub-section of eBay's own web site.

Those of us who spent time reading the eBay auction listing and the "About Me" page are just gullible fools (me included) whose time has been diverted by a clever marketing trick.

    Do the bidders know this?

Looks like everything else he sold are digital download books/ebooks.

It looks shady. I would think that it might be a eBay PR cos it looks too good to be true. AND his AD is not even funny. I know of some ads with high bid value cos the seller was some creative person and wrote a very interesting description

    Hey
Hi everyone, I'm the seller of the DD Cup. Came across this board through search. The DD Cup is what I like to call a "Loss Leader" Price Strategy. I am a legit businessman with a unique marketing method to establish trust throughout the community, while gaining some extra buzz marketing to my store. Looks like it worked! If you get a spare chance, please feel free to read some of my reviews and guides on my feedback page, to gain a better understanding of what it was about.

    loss leader?

"In marketing, a loss leader is an item that is sold below cost in an effort to stimulate other profitable sales."

    Doesn't fit the description.

With this method, I give a bonus gift in equal or typically greater value to the final bidder to ensure their satisfaction and maintain my reputation and honest feedback. I see this as a new method to establish trust and to show your true character to the eBay community. I make up for the LOSS in Fees, Bonus Gifts and Ad expenses with a cross-promotion and actual small profit on my real items for sale during the extra publicity.

Just curious, what does the winner get for $2,375 besides the cup?

Well, can't tell you everything, lol. I do however expect legit and serious bidding only and expect payment just like any other transaction would take place. It's basically combining the category, 'Mystery' Auction Concept, WITH a Bizarre Twist.

I am not in the business of screwing anyone out of their hard earned money. I'm just another average joe with an eye of the tiger.

It's ok you can tell me, I won't tell anybody. How about not what you sent exactly but an example of what you might send with the cup?

Your feedback is on $1.23 digital downloads. Don't think you would get many complaints on that.

"If you have any further questions, contact me thru here"

So that's why I was asking. But you're skipping it for some reason. Haven't figured it out yet.

    O RLY?

It seems that you expect free publicity from a goofball stunt auction listing. Nothing wrong with that. But why waste your time spewing BS around here?

Just another curious, someone said you work for ebay? It that so? Or just marketing to get to your other products?

I just wanted to explain, that's all.
Didn't want any false assumptions floating around by any means.

Anyways, on a lighter note, I skimmed around this site, looks pretty cool, what's another good section to check out? What's the typical demographic?
