"This is a sample Flash application built using Commission Junction Web Services and Adobe Flexbuilder. To use this sample code, you will need Adobe Flexbuilder. A trial download is available from Adobe"
They don't tell you how much cost Adobe Flexbuilder, for info: $745.00

Yeh, and it was an interesting choice to list two amazon sites as examples to advertisers.

Given that there are no existing CJ web services sites, it may have been (politically) better to list a few eBay web services sites. Or at least not use a direct competitor as an example.

This promise from the service looks interesting:
"Programmers can use Web services to access features and functionality from multiple software/application providers in order to create a unique product or consumer experience."[source]
This service seems to have a hook in it

    • Does it cost anything? Currently the service is free.
(But the prices might be jacked up in the future)
    • Fees and Payments.
CJ reserves the right to charge fees for future use of or access to the CJ APIs in CJ's sole discretion, and any such charges will be disclosed to you prior. [source]

    What does this mean?
"Can I use both Commission Junction's Web Services and the existing Product Catalog data feed to obtain product links from advertisers?

Because accessing product links through Commission Junction's Web Services requires advanced developing and programming capabilities, depending on your expertise, you may only be able to utilize product links through the existing Product Catalog data feed method.[source]
I'd probably fall into the "depending category" -- so if fees arise, would they be applicable?

Plus CJ will start a new community to help in this endeavor -- hmmmmmm

Thanks for the info on the Adobe Flexbuilder's cost, Zeus.
I see CJ already is hiding fees
Does Flexbuilder require Flash programming experience as well?

That sounds good, but I don't want to put myself in a position where CJ starts to charge me for potential access.

I might consider signing up at a later date but I will not be one of the first to sign (I like to take my time).

I hope you do well with this service.

I believe that your programming skills are more advanced than mine, so my relative lack of programming experience is a major reason why I exercise caution (also I am wary of "gotcha fees").

WebServices sounds like it'll be awesome! Definitely the best thing announced here at CJU. I'll have to look much closer when I get back in town. Sounds like many features won't be available until next year.

BTW, you can get a trial version of Adobe Flexbuilder for free.
