I thought you said "cheapiest" :P

Spelled correctly, but still odd - had a visitor searching for "boys in bubblewrap pants" once. Don't ask...

I just wonder how we wind up ranking for some of these things.

It was no mystery when an old page that had the "Powerpuff Girls Pink Furry Jewelry Box" got a lot of strange hornball traffic, but the "waches with dimads", "wich pdiddy that raps", and "brain hammorhedges" stuff just makes me wonder.

I just found one on my site for "ped meds". It wasnt' just one search, but 26 searches in a 4 day period. Wondered how they found my site and decided to check my pets page. Sure enough, I made a typo in the title tag.

Good idea! A Lemsip banner may convert gangbusters on that page.

You should see the searches done in that big release of user data that AOL did. Some were real eye poppers.

Many users seem to think they're actually talking to a live person on the other end of the search box. "Do you think I should....?" "Where would I go to find informatin on.....?"

    Crazy.

Then there's the search strings that cover size, brand, style, and color, .com.

Had one recently that was something like "pink ugg booties for baby girls .com"

This one is for yesterday for my site. Did a search on every major search engine and didn't get a hit for my site on any of them but my logs say I got 13 hits with this phrase

"Candle in the behind then sniff it"

I'm curious about this -- was this a situation where your tags were picked up and "re-generated" as search terms? Or is this actually a common typo error? It sounds pretty strange.

I have seen "repetitive search queries" coming into client sites, where it is clear that the search term was apparently "picked up by a script" and is not something a person would really type intentionally, certainly not once per day for a month.

You can often see these pop out when you look for related terms with the Yahoo/Overture keyword tool -- you put in something like "oakland used car" and it shows that there were 500 searches last month for the exact phrase "primo hot oakland used car ford chrysler zippo green" (this is a made-up example, but it's a fair approximation of what I saw during a project last January). Someone who adds these "bizarre keyword phrases" to their bids is going to pick up a bunch of searches (and perhaps clicks) from a bot -- or a fraud network.

I used to get hits for "search engine optimzation" because I left out the middle "i"

It should be: "search engine optimization" of course :0

It was in just one metatag. But I warn you - Marketing managers that can't spell are worse than the ones that can spell...

Seems to me that there would be some benefit to misspelling keywords. Even poor spellers would need website optmiztion
