Exclamation Why 'chetf' always have something bad to say?
Just wondering if anyone have noticed that one of our fellow member, 'Chetf' always have something bad to say about something or somebody?

I just did research after being attacked... looking through Chetf's most recent posts.

    Attacking IncentAclick:

    Attacking Shawn Collins:

Zeus, same thing I was thinking. How will Shawn spin this to make it bad for all affiliates. The only thing I know that is bad for all affiliates is Shawn Collins...

I do not feel offended by him. This is a forum and he has the right to differ.

I was posting an article that relates to lonelygirl15 and that was the title of the article.

As for the http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?p=609974 article, he did bring up some good point and find some info about siteadvisor.com

    Chetfs makes the discussion interesting

Andrew, I would watch who you decide to insult in public. chetf is a respected member of the community that you are trying to become a part of.

Nothing wrong with reporting the truth which is what Chet does - he has evidence to back up pretty much everything he says here.

    Andrew

We ALL get picked on/yelled at/called names (even us affiliates)

Lots of different people/lots of different opinions

You can try to get someone to turn around to your view, but it's easier to just agree to disagree

I read the post before it was deleted... and it actually served a purpose... it helped create your thread about duplicate content

Don't get me wrong. I do not mind critques, even harsh ones.

It was the ACCUSATION and WORDS used that I do not believe appropriate.

    Chetf,

I am sure you will read this post.

After just a few post here, it is obvious that you have provided both good and bad posting. But mostly people feel you are beneficial.

Perhaps we have conflicted on the wrong topic... I really wished you would not have been so quick to accuse me or used words like scummy or scumbag on people. I wish I could be a born with a bit more patience myself. :-)

I have received many PMs from friends advicing me to calm down... I am going to take their advice and just focus on business as usual.

    Thanks everyone for your feedbacks.

    As you put it:
ACCUSATION - He has the facts to back it up, I do not think that I would consider it ACCUSATION(s) anymore. It's more of a matter of fact.

WORDS - Billy Kay puts it nicely.

I do not know cheft at all but by just seeing his/her post on here, but appareltly cheft has been on the block for a long time to find and pass observations that are beneficial to affiliates.

This thread you have time for but not the one you know (by your own admission it can be debated back and forth) will cause discussion? How long to go through and pick and choose which threads to quote Chet? How long to figure out what you wanted to say and post it? Then you throw generalizations out implying he does nothing but badmouth everyone/everything and end it with a question regarding his "benefit" to the community?

    ... odd.

    Are you f*cking kidding me?

ChetF is one of the most valuable voices on ABW, PERIOD!

As said he has never minced words and has never been anything short of straight and true in his defending of "the affiliate impetus". I am truly proud to have him as a member and fully appreciate, as obviously many, his input.

If you would have really searched his posts, you would have seen he is 99.99% spot on target in his critiques with no apparent (or ulterior) motive. He expresses the program / merchant downsides that many members have learned and saved themselves from. If he said boo to you and you took offense to it, I seriously suggest that you continue to apologize and examine where your offering's shortfalls are such that your can evolve to be symbiotic.

I do apologize for questioning a veteran member of this forum.

I hope you all see my posting about "Google duplicate content" has many warnings about being "my own opinion", as most would know these are gray areas in regards of SEO.

For that I was called a "scum"?

If it was my opinion why am I being accused of providing misinformation? I posted my researched and backed up my opinion.

    Andrew,
While I don't always agree with Chetf, he has at the very least a valuable argument every time he takes someone to task and he has my respect for that.

That adds more to this board than anything I have seen you post.

I made a post that I deleted in that thread. It did not call you names, but it did indeed question your character for touting your solution as "search engine friendly" when it is indeed NOT.

You become a respected member of this community by helping people and shooting straight, not by making false claims about your product in a fit of shameless self promotion, followed by a boatload of unfounded assumptions when called on it.

You should watch Chet and learn how to become a respected member yourself.

    UncleScooter,

I appreciate your comment. Point well taken about how disagreeing on many topics does bring a different perspective to any forum. I agree. You have disagreed with many of my post before, I replied and we never called each other names. For that I appreciate and respect you professionalism.

In fact this whole mess what started by replying to your post. Strange how things can become complicated when human emotions are added.

I do regret to have sparked all this mess...

    UncleScooter,

I still disagree with your opinion about the "search engine matters" but if we all stay professional and not call names or other bad words, I think we can all learn a lot from this issue.

Thank you Eric Ewe, for taking the time to seek which statement may have caused all this mess.

Which may have have caused Chetf to feel it was self promotional...

I know from the beginning the topic (how Google treat duplicate content) is controversial, I have mentioned and warned many times in the post that these are my opinions. I have even mentioned:

Sorry, I can not be responsible for you implementing my opinion and any damage it may cause from it. (standard disclaimer - in case I get attacked )
What is even more sad was that I created that posting to reply to UncleScooter which I found deleted when I was going to post it.

Again we all can not agreed on all things. That is why we have wars. But I learned a lot from this experience and I APOLOGIZE TO CHETF for all this mess and THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR FEEDBACKS good or bad.

Also, I mentioned that you were doing shameless self promo with the statement "Unfortunately I do not have the time. I have DataFeedFile.com to run and support." , which I have to agree with Cheft then I thought that I should not have wrote that.
