    I also got this email today, and it inspired me to research:

    (1) There is apparently nobody working at CJ with the name "M. Mackay"

    (2) CJ's emails are being sent out through IP addresses which are allocated to Savvis.net, a spam-friendly ISP. I think this explains the "emails being returned" issue -- hundreds of Savvis IP addresses are blacklisted (and properly so).

    I tried calling to reach anyone at CJ today who might be able to make use of this information, but after 5 calls I gave up.

    I then called and left a message for the affiliate manager of the one program I continue to promote via CJ links, to advise them that they need to stop doing business with CJ and find a technology partner who can competently operate their affiliate solution. I'm telling them that I will be pulling all CJ links from my personal sites on October 1. (My personal site drove 163 transactions totalling $2,250 to this merchant in the past 90 days -- not a loss that should scare them much, but hopefully enough that the merchant will look into the issue.)

    At the same time, it was nearly the most unobjectionable email I've received from them.

    Hey, can anybody post this blahblah-email? In the last months I do not get any email from cj.com also not from their AAA departement. I thought cj.com only exists in 2 or 3 servers. Perhaps the email are not from cj.com but from those servers where cj.com exists.

    I didn't see it; could it have been actually from another domain?

    Here is the complete email, with all headers up to the point when it hit my mailserver/filter (mxlogic.net). As I noted in another thread (http://forum.abestweb.com/showthread.php?t=75101), this email and another I received this week from CJ passed through servers using IP addresses allocated to spam-friendly ISP Savvis.net, which probably explains why so much of CJ's email is being filtered.

    I didn't get any blah blah email nor any baby one. And I don't have any filter on the address I gave them, so I guess I just wasn't on the list.

    As for what server it went through, it doesn't strike me as having any Big Meaning. I don't think many people, except for spammers and anti-spammers, would check to see if a server was "spam friendly" or not. Then once they realize that half their emails are being filtered they MAY realize there's something wrong...

    Atonca--the baby thing is probably just trying to get you to promote baby stuff. But after "blah blah" who knows?

    Just to try to get people's attention, I would guess. I've noticed that they've come up with some fairly unexpected email titles at times.

    But whoever came up with that title probably didn't think of the fact that people would think it really was just porn spam! I would bet a lot of them will be left unopened.

    ~~~~~~~
    On another note, I usually get the CJ Insider emails. I'm surprised I didn't get one...
