This may belong to someone here:

This is the stolen site: http://mhao.free.fr

This is the real site: http://www.thefreesite.com

These guys are amazing!

Same M.O. as before,

Be on the lookout for your sites !!

P.S> They even have a fastclick account and a hit box account on the stolen sites, anyone here have contacts at any of those places?

As I know these people at free.fr I just call them to investigate. They will check on http://mhao.free.fr.

One of my sites was stolen this week so I know the feeling. More than 500 pages, the thief just replaced the logo and the email. I was able to discover it with "the invalid link report" at CJ. They didn't replace one of the dead links. I still need to find the host.

Thanks Andy.

I had some click show up there for Tower Records. Who I hadn't joined.

Should I be worried about this?

Thanks for the heads-up, Andy. I know the owner of thefreesite and will give him a "heads up".

It won't be anything new for him, he's been dealing with sort of thing for years. I know because he links to one of my sites and I'm always getting hits from his copycatters.

Well Andy thta one is a definite copycat. Always double check any domain with FREE in it since you sure don't give anything away for free except my nify new iPaq 3640 PDA. I think all the popup and unders have stoped loading as normal for Freebee sites.

SHOOT! That's bad.

I've seen "TheFreeSite" before, but I haven't seen the other French one. I just can't understand how can people live with that.

Want a clue how stupid these people are? On the .fr site, the "Stuck in another site's frame? Get out here" link goes to the other site!

Sigh...

One more stolen, very popular site. This one folks, from someone with a "pay to" address right here in Boise, Idaho. Good old USA!

It's a .tk domain, maybe you know someone there: http://www.sportsfeed.tk/, the real one is http://www.sportsfeed.com/.

This guy gave a fake phone number, i was going to call him and rattle his chain

But i'm sure the addy is correct if he wants his money...

Besides BF and the real site, who else can I send this to to have this guy stopped in his tracks?

Yep,i'm keeping my eye out for these jokers. Anything that comes in that looks somewhat funny, i'm checking out.

I want to clean up my DB, not add garbage to it.

Shame he got approved by Valuclick. Someone should drop them a line and tell them wahts going on..

Andy,

Send the info to the FBI and the Idaho Attorney General...file a small claim suit in FLA against the guy claiming fraud.

If he doesn't show up you win...then turn it over to your collection agency to go after the money.

Have fun... .

Ok Dumb statement, but looking at the links and email address plus sign ups on the second site. They are all the same as the first, so what's the gain for the guy doing the copying, unless it is the orginal webmaster creating a duplicate site using a different url. (I do it!)

Two banners, one on top one on bottom. Account on valueclick, probably the same addy as the one he used to apply at Tiger.

Easy money....he thinks.

I'm no expert, others here can elaborate..

Hmmmm...
My instinct tells me that:
It may not be a copycate scheme, It may be that the owner of thefreesite.com created a free account at mhao.free.fr just to generate traffic and exposure (or something like that).

I checked some of the links (such as the WebSponsors ID) and it has the same affiliate id.

If this not happening, then the copycater is not smart enough ... since all the work he/she's done is for the profit of the original creator....
